I was afraid to say another word for fear she might ask to be taken home. I stepped over, taking her lips. “I only wanted to please you tonight.”

Her dark eyes peered into my blue eyes. She laughed. “You certainly did that. Are we done for the night?”

My eyebrows wrinkled. “Not by a long shot.”

I walked to the other side of the counter, grabbed a glass from the cabinet, placing it under the refrigerator door water dispenser, filing the glass to the rim. I swallowed the ice-cold water in one gulp.

“Malaysia, can you pour another shot?”

“Sure.”

After the glass was filled, I threw the contents to the back of my throat. She did the same. I whisked her into the bedroom, laying her in the center of the bed. She slipped the T-shirt over her head while I grabbed a strip of condoms from the nightstand.

Malaysia gawked at the condoms and smiled. “That’s definitely needed. Now come here.” She pulled me flush against her, smothering my lips with hers.

Malaysia and I had sex three more times before we dropped off to sleep.

A familiar dream surfaced.

“Goodnight, Ms. Claybourne, I will see you next week.”

“Thanks again, Dr. Daniel’s, for staying so late assisting with setup for the breakfast crowd.”

“It was no problem at all.” I helped Ms. Claybourne into her car, then watched her drive away.

I turned on my heels, walking across the dimly lit parking lot to the driver’s side door of my Porsche.

A man jumped out of his crouching position, pointing a revolver in my face. “Give me all of your fucking money and the keys to the car! Now, bitch!”

I raised my hands in the air, chest heaving. “Take it easy, man. I will give you everything.”

“Don’t tell me to take it fucking easy!”

He kneed me in the stomach, then hit me over the head twice with the butt of the gun.

“Don’t move or I will blow your fucking brains out!”

I stared at the blood gushing from my head onto the ground. My body shook, and my eyes closed. I knew my life was about to end. He stole my wallet, then jumped into the car, peeling rubber out of the parking lot.

I shot up out of my sleep. “No!” I shouted.

Malaysia awoke, sitting up at my side. “Ethan, it’s ok.” She ran her hands across my shoulders.

I rested my arms on my knees, running my fingers through my hair.

“Ethan, I’ll be right back.”

She returned with a glass of water.

I chugged down the contents. “Thank you. Go back to sleep. I have this nightmare every night.”

“Would you prefer I sleep in the guest room?”

“No, come here.” I placed the empty glass on the night stand, then pulled Malaysia into my arms.

“I’ll be fine in a moment.”

I was in a deep sleep within a couple of minutes.
