“Who might that be?” Shane tried to appear confused, but his brother read right through his charade. He pushed back from his desk and crossed his legs while meeting his brother’s gaze.

Trevor’s smile slowly faded as he took in Shane’s solemn face.

“Nothing. Never mind.” Trevor shook his head.

Shane held back his smirk, satisfied his brother appeared to be thrown off. He was actually beginning to like the thought of what he and Avarie were embarking on was their little secret. He was a selfish man and didn’t want to share what was his.

Not that he would ever share what Avarie harbored between her thighs.

Oh no.

All of her sweet nectar was his.

The sounds of her moans were only for his ears.

Avarie Ingram was just for him.

It was settled, he would keep their little secret.

“Mr. King,” Oliver’s voice cut through the air.

Shane glanced down at the intercom on his desk phone and reached out, hitting the button.

“Yes, Oliver?” He checked his watch, seeing that she was on time.

“Ms. Ingram is here to meet with you and Mr. King,” Oliver announced.

“Please bring her in,” Shane instructed, releasing the button.

“I’m hearing that Avarie is one hell of a contract writer.” Trevor chuckled, straightening his tie.

Shane took notice of the way his brother’s eyes were anticipating Avarie’s arrival.

“Conrad and James were in my office complaining that she busted their balls over their contract they drew up for the Lexington deal.”

“Really?” Shane raised an eyebrow at his brother. He wasn’t surprised. Finton Ingram’s daughter was the apple that apparently didn’t fall far from the tree. She was a fierce lawyer, and her reputation was solid.

“Ms. Ingram,” Olive announced from the door.

Shane moved his gaze, and his eyes connected with Avarie’s. He bit back a growl as he side-eyed his brother and saw interest on his face. It took everything Shane had to not leap over his desk and slam his fist in his brother’s face.

“Avarie.” Trevor stood to his feet.

Shane followed suit, his gaze automatically returning to Avarie’s curvy frame.

“Mr. King.” Avarie smiled, striding across the room with her hand outstretched.

Her close-fitting black suit did nothing to hide what Shane knew existed beneath it. Her heels echoed across the marble floor. Her long, dark tresses were swept back in another one of her infamous buns.

Shane itched to pull it free and allow her dark mane to flow freely around her shoulders.

“Thank you for taking the time to meet with us,” Trevor said, placing a small kiss on the back of her hand.

Shane bit back a growl, narrowing his eyes on his brother. Avarie chuckled, easing her hand back before turning to him. Their eyes connected, and desire slammed into Shane’s chest.

“Mr. King.” She nodded to him with a small smile lingering on her lips.

“Ms. Ingram, please have a seat.” He waved her to the empty chair beside Trevor.
