Foster kisses my cheek. “No. You should move your clothes to our closet. From now on, everything is ours.”

“And no postnuptial?”

He kisses me again, this time full on the lips before pulling away after a few seconds. “As long as you promise not to put me in the poor house.”

I gently smack his shoulder. “I’ve had your credit cards for seven months.”

“This is true, but now it’s official.”

“In the eyes of the law, it was official seven months ago. Maybe I should go shopping to celebrate.”

“Anything you want. Treat yourself.”

I kiss his cheek. “I wouldn’t take advantage.”

“I will.” With that, Foster runs his hand down my leg, causing goosebumps to bloom on my skin. “You have beautiful legs. I love them.”

“I was right!”

“I love everything about you, not just your legs.”

After a few moments, I say, “Not to change the subject, but I’m hungry.”

“What would you like?”

“Anything.”

“You’re easy.” There’s a gleam in his eye.

“With some things,” I retort.

“I love a challenge.”

“You might get more than you bargained for with me.”

“I already have.”

“I have a question.”

“Ask away,” Foster says openly as he squeezes me.

“Do I still get the five-hundred grand after eighteen months? I also want to keep my own apartment. I like my space.”

Foster’s mouth drops open. “You better be kidding.”

“I just thought I would ask. The look on your face is priceless.”

He lets me go, and I climb off his lap, pulling his hand so he can join me in the kitchen.

“Would you like a glass of wine?” he asks.

“It’s a bit early in the day.”

“It is, but after what we revealed, I thought you might want something to take the edge off.”

“There is no edge, only love.”

Foster embraces and kisses me until I am weak-kneed and ready to drag him to the bedroom. As he lets me go to head to what would soon be our shared bedroom, I set to work making sandwiches. When he comes back, we sit down at the dining table together.
