Page 81 of Betrayed By Love

After lunch, Foster retires to his office to take care of a couple of items, and I start to move my clothing to our bedroom. When I first enter his space, I shiver at the thought of what our first night in a shared bed, as a couple in love, will be like.

I spend extra time in the bathroom, debating what to wear before I go to bed. I’m not sure what to expect, and my stomach tightens with anticipation. I debate whether I should wear a nightgown or my usual panties and t-shirt combo. The short nightgown wins out. It is a thin, pale-yellow fabric and only comes down to my upper thighs. The neckline gives more than a hint of my ample breasts. When I step out, Foster is already under the covers, his bare torso exposed. He is flipping through the channels, but once he spots me, his gaze fixes intensely on my legs as I stride to the bed.

“A nightgown?”

“I was in the mood.”

“It’s nice. You should treat yourself to more.”

“I’m not spending money. I have several nightgowns in my wardrobe.”

He flips the covers back, and I climb into bed, almost moaning at the softness of the light blue sheets.

“I like this bed.”

Foster shifts the covers over me, stating, “Good, I like have you in my bed.”

“Our bed.”

“Excuse me, Mrs. Black, our bed.”

Foster settles on a financial channel, and I turn to snuggle into his chest, placing my head on his pec.

“You smell good,” he says lowly.

“I didn’t use anything different.”

“You always smell good. I should’ve said something sooner.”

He wraps an arm around me and gently rubs my back; the motion is lulling me to sleep. I wake when he reaches over to shut off the light on his nightstand.

“I’m sorry,” I saw with a yawn. “I fell asleep.”

“You’re entitled to.”

“What did you do in your office this afternoon?”

“Made arrangements for a proper honeymoon.”

“You did?”

“I did.”

“Where?”

“Do you trust me?”

“Of course.”

“I promise you’ll have a great time,” he assures. “Our villa is on a private beach with all the amenities you could want.”

“I would’ve settled for a hotel.”

“I don’t want to share you. Is that a good enough reason?”

I kiss his chest, grazing his nipple with my lips. A rumble escapes from Foster’s throat, but he doesn’t speak, only pulls me closer against him. Again I fade off to sleep with his scent in my nose.

“Paige? Baby, wake up.”
