I tell her everything and want to tell her more, but JC comes out and moves my hair away from my neck, kissing and nibbling. His fingers start rubbing my clit, and I gasp and point to the phone.
“I don’t care. Hang up, or I’ll make you come while you’re still talking,” he whispers.
“Liv, I have to go. I’ll call you tomorrow or Sunday.”
“Alexa, don’t you hang up on me.”
I do, and JC pulls the phone from my hand, pressing the power button, then leads me back to his bed.
“She’s not going to be very happy.”
“You told her enough. Now hush so I can make you come.”
We spend the entire weekend in bed, only taking breaks for food and showers. I’m happier than I’ve been in a long time, even when I was with Noah.
On Sunday afternoon, I prepare to leave. I’ve done nothing but make love with JC, and I have a bunch of stuff to do at my apartment. He lazes in bed watching me pull on my clothes. I have no panties since he destroyed them on Friday night.
“Going commando?”
“It’s not like I have any extra clothing here, and my panties are in shreds thanks to you.”
“We’ll have to remedy that. You should move in with me.”
My stomach clenches, and I swallow the now forming lump in my throat.
“Can we just live apart for a little while?”
He sits up in bed and stares at me, feeling the change in my demeanor.
“Lexi, what’s wrong.”
“When we lived together, that’s where it all went wrong.”
“You think I’m going to cheat on you again? Those days are long over. I won’t. I’ve changed. I know that you deserve better, and I want to give that to you.”
“Can you bear with me for a little while? I can sleep over here a few nights a week. I need to ease into it.”
“I’ll let you have your time, but we’re going engagement ring shopping next weekend. I want everyone to know you’re mine.”
“Oh, do you?” I can’t contain my straight face and start laughing.
“Be serious. We have a lot of planning to do and a lot of people to tell. When you leave, I’m going to call Hunter. I’m sure that my father with be skeptical, but I don’t have to answer to him.”
“I’m glad to hear that.”
“I need to go. I should be back later.”
“You’re staying with me tonight?”
“Of course. Why did you think different?”
“You said you needed your space. Would you mind if I came with you?”
“Sure. Any particular reason why?”
“I want to see Olivia’s face when I walk through the door with you.”
“We should probably stop by Megan’s and tell her too.”
