“So is this my no-questions asked date?” she teases as she shuts her door. I’m sitting in a chair when she leans over my shoulder from behind me and whispers, “Because I was kind of hoping it included you naked but that’s not happening in here.” She kisses my neck before standing back up and walking around to her desk. Holy shit, my pants just got tight!

“Oh, sweetheart, this is definitely not our date.” I stand and lean over her desk so we’re face to face. My tongue darts out to lick my lower lip, just barely missing hers, “Don’t worry, there will be plenty of nakedness.” I lightly brush my lips on hers before sitting back down. Fuck my rule. There’s no way I’m going to be able to resist her for an entire weekend. I’m going to have to figure something else out.

She’s flushed as she sits down, wiggling in her seat. I flash her a knowing smile.

“So when is our actual date?” She breathes out slowly, crossing her legs.

“Mmm… not soon enough,” I growl.

To stop myself from jumping behind this desk and having her for lunch, I set the food out. I look up to her wide eyes, staring at all the food. “I didn’t know what you wanted so there are a few options.” I laugh, looking at how much food I actually brought.

“A few?” she says, gesturing with her hands. “That’s like enough for seven people.” “Just for future reference, I love Chinese food, almost all of it.”

We talk a little about everything as we eat our food. Work, friends, mainly Damon and Sydney—and we’re both not sure what happened there—football games, and then she asks about our date again.

“We leave Saturday morning. You’ll need an overnight bag,” I say wagging my eyes.

“That seems more than a date. That’s more of a little vacation,” she says.

“Ah-ah-ah… no questions. And I know you’re free. I already asked Harper if you had plans, so I’ll be at your place Saturday morning at nine.” I smirk.

“I didn’t actually ask a question,” she says. “So are you going to tell me what we’re doing so I know what to pack?” She cocks one eyebrow.

“Nope, it’s a surprise. Pack casual and don’t forget a swimsuit. Scratch that. You can forget the swimsuit.” I wink.

Chapter Forty-two

PACKING AN OVERNIGHT bag for somewhere you have no idea where sucks. I’m going to be with Aiden for two days, and I have no idea what we’re doing. I like being in control, and I’m having a slight panic attack right now.

Deep breaths, Addison.

I can do this. I have an hour before he gets here. It’s still gorgeous outside, so I’m wearing denim cutoffs, my favorite blue tank top, and chucks on my feet. He said casual. I throw my swimsuit on the bed, staring at it, debating if I should actually forget it. I pick a similar outfit for tomorrow. I’ve made sure I’m wearing my favorite black panties and matching bra. Tomorrow, I’ll have my pink set on. All that’s left is what I’m wearing to bed. I know what Aiden’s answer would be, but I don’t even know where we are staying. What if we’re with a bunch of people? What if we’re going camping? Then I sure the hell am not sleeping naked. Shit. I throw a pair of cotton shorts and a T-shirt on the bed, just in case. After gathering all my toiletries, I throw everything in a bag. Falling back on my bed, I blow out my cheeks and let out a long sigh.

My thoughts flutter back to last weekend and the mystery man. I shake the memory from my head. Nothing strange has happened since. I’m still not sure what to think of it, but now is not the time to figure it out.

I hear a knock at the door. What the hell? Aiden must have become really good friends with my doorman because they are supposed to call me when I have visitors. I stop in the bathroom to make sure I still look okay and not a disheveled mess. My loose curls are free and I’m wearing minimal makeup: mascara and lip gloss. I take a deep breath, satisfied I don’t look like a wreck and open the door.

Green eyes slowly rake over my body leaving a trail of heat in their wake. A low growl erupts from him as he steps forward. My pulse quickens as my desire and need awakens. The physical connection between us is undeniable. Unexplainable. Everything else ceases to exist. I’ve tried to back away. Tried to tell myself we weren’t meant to be together, but the second we’re together, my body succumbs and defies what I know to be true. I’m too weak to stop it. The pull is too powerful.

“Hi,” I say softly.

He wraps his arms around me, pulling me into his solid chest, tucking his head in my neck. “Damn, woman.” He inhales deeply. “What are you doing to me? You own me the second you lay your gorgeous blue eyes on me.”

I run my hands through his hair, grabbing hold of it. When he lifts his head, I slowly press my lips to his, running my tongue along his lips. He opens for me, his tongue caressing mine. The kiss isn’t rushed; it’s a slow, intoxicating kiss filled with passion.

Aiden groans in frustration when he breaks the kiss, leaning his forehead on mine. We’re both breathing heavy. “Addison, we need to be somewhere by noon.” He mutters a curse. “Let’s go before I change my mind.” He grabs my hand and takes my bag as we rush out the door.

He opens his car door, and I slide into the sleek, black leather seat as he places my bag in the trunk. When he gets in, he reaches for my hand and brings it to his lips. Glancing at me, he growls and shakes his head before darting into traffic.

“So, are you going to tell me where we have to be by noon?” I smile at him, leaning my head back on the seat. He raises an eyebrow as he flashes a huge smile. I wait for him to say something, but he keeps quiet, staring straight ahead. I take this time to study him. He’s such a gorgeous man. He’s wearing khaki shorts with a white polo shirt that makes him look youthful, innocent. The polo shirt sleeves are snug against his muscular arms. His jaw twitches as his lips curl into a mischievous smile, revealing his dimples. A tingle between my legs has me crossing my legs in my seat.

“See something you want?” he asks in a suggestive tone, noticing my slow perusal of him. Instantly, I figure out how I’m going to get him to tell me where we’re going. Thankfully the highway isn’t busy.

I take off my shoes and put one foot on the dashboard. He quickly peeks at my leg before looking straight again. I pull some lotion out of my purse and slowly and sensually drag my hands from my foot up my leg, up my inner thigh. I get to my center aching to be touched by him. As I drag my finger over my shorts, across my swollen nub, a shiver shoots through me.

“Addison,” he growls as he puts his hand over mine, cupping my sex. He adds pressure as his fingers press into my slit through my shorts as his palm adds delicious pressure to my clit. I arch my back, grinding into his hand. His touch ignites me. “Take off your shorts,” he commands. I immediately unbutton my shorts and pull them down. “Is this what you want, sweetheart?” His fingers push my panties to the side. I reach down the side of the seat and adjust it so I’m lying back.

“Yes. I want—” I cry out as he slips a finger in me. He circles his finger as his palm rubs my sensitive clit. My hips move to the motion of his finger. He stills, removing his finger. I whimper at the loss. “Why—” I can’t even finish my sentence I’m so shocked that he stopped.
