“See, that’s just it, only you. They were special dates. I’ve never done either of those things with any other girl.”

“Lucky me,” I said in a voice laced with sarcasm, enjoying the weight of his serious gaze.

“Well… if you’re talking romance, I’ve done that with you too. Surely you can’t have forgotten we stood holding hands at the top of the Eiffel Tower in this romantic city?” he said, playfully.

My eyes softened from the mock challenging stare I had been giving him, and my heart squeezed when he raised a brow and smiled.

“We did,” I said with a sigh. “Pity that was because I was clinging for dear life because I thought I was going to pass out or vomit.”

He chuckled. “Don’t forget the naked groupie in my bed. How many girls get the pleasure of that on a romantic weekend in Paris? I bet I could count on one hand how many times that’s happened to a woman on a Valentine’s trip,” he murmured, kissing my neck again.

My mind thought back to the roses and the romantic poetry, the promise ring, and I had already known Jamie could turn on romance, but it was fun teasing him.

“Back off. Dress,” I said, my eyes flitting down his body to his low-slung jeans, his small trail of hair disappearing into the waistband and his prominent V muscles pointing to where he’d rather I be.

“Alright,” he muttered in defeat, letting me go and wandering reluctantly back to his suit. Lifting the white button-down shirt, he fed his arms into the sleeves and shrugged it over his shoulders.

“Seeing enough?” he asked, doing the buttons of shirt from the bottom, each inch of his skin slowly disappearing beneath it.

“For now,” I said, willing myself to keep my feet from moving and my lust from taking over.

“You’re a hard woman, Daisy O’Donnell,” he muttered, popping open his blue faded jeans’ button and sliding down his zipper.

Swallowing drily, I silently took in my cool drink of water while he shoved the rough pant material down his muscular legs until his jeans bunched at his feet, and he pulled them free. With his lower half naked, he raised his eyes and chuckled when he noticed my throat work in another swallow.

“Thirsty?” he asked, snickered and reached into the suit carrier. He took the pants from inside the red satin lined black jacket. Shaking them out, he opened the flies, slid his legs into them and drew them up over his arse. After carefully tucking his shirt inside, he slowly zipped them up.

I’d thought he’d looked hot in the shirt and pants until he pulled on the red vest over the shirt, and instantly I burned with a need to undress him. My mind tripped out for a second when I thought how he looked naked underneath and when I reconnected my gaze to him, he was shrugging himself into his jacket. Jamie reached down, lifted his jeans off the floor, and took his credit card wallet and cell phone out of the pockets.

“Will I do?” he asked, holding his arms out and doing a three sixty degree turn before he looked back at me.

“I’d do you any day of the week,” I replied, smiling with lust filled eyes. My heart leaped when our eyes locked in a stare and I forced out a breath. “Feck it’s hot in here,” I said, fanning myself with my hands. I heard him chuckle when I turned away from him to grab the ivory faux fur stole. Coming up behind me, Jamie took it out of my hands and turned me to look at him. Slowly he wrapped it around my shoulders, pulled it tight at my neck and kissed me hard.

“Damn,” he cussed when we almost lost control and he messed up my hair. He pushed me away slightly harder than he meant to, and I almost fell over. He caught me roughly by my wrist, and the unexpected move made my core pulse.

“Shoes,” I blurted, which made him glance down at my bare feet.

“No stockings?” he pouted.

“Of course, I meant accessories, I have lace hold up stockings in my bag,” I replied.

“No suspenders?”

“I can’t wear them under this dress material, it’s too revealing.” Jamie released me from his hold, and I reached into my suitcase again, pulling a fresh packet of lace topped black hold ups out and quickly pulling them on. I tried hard not to tease him any farther.

Picking up my shoes Jamie sat on the bed and lifting each foot I let him fasten the buckles at my ankles. When he finished, he stood, smoothed his hands down my bare arms and held my hands by my wrists.

“I fear after tonight we’ll never be the same. Being Barney, your Canadian pen-friend was a gas, sweetheart, but it’s time we stopped hiding and claimed you as mine. I can’t wait to let the world know how much I’m in love with you. Come on, let’s give them something to talk about,” he challenged, sliding his fingers between mine on one hand and led me out to dinner.

Chapter 10

The atmosphere shifted the second we stepped out of the lift and into the foyer on the ground floor. Instead of rushing me through a hotel kitchen and surreptitiously bundled into a car in some back street alleyway, Jamie was flaunting our relationship for everyone to see. Stepping out of the doorway and into the street, Jamie flashed me a relaxed smile as he showed me off on his arm.

It was then I noticed three guys with serious photographic hardware around their necks. Their cameras must have been worth thousands of euros a piece and knew immediately why they were there.

“Oh, no, they’ve seen us,” I squeaked, my fingers tightening around Jamie’s. Felix immediately put himself between us and the paparazzi. I was amazed because I hadn’t noticed he was with us until that point and guessed he must have joined us when we’d gotten out of the lift.

“It’s okay, Felix, we got this, just monitor from a distance until we get into the car,” Jamie murmured before he looked up at the men snapping pictures and plastered on a beguiling grin.
