Time stands still as my hand moves from his jaw down his neck to his shoulder to pull him over me. He comes willingly, never breaking the kiss as he now hovers over my body. My heart is beating rapidly as my hand moves around his front and to the end of his shirt. My fingertips touch his skin and I feel goosebumps erupt on his skin under my touch. I feel the quick intake of breath that he masks during the kiss, then he deepens the kiss.

Another moment passes and Shaw pulls back. His desire blatant on his handsome face as he breathes heavily.

“Was that too much?” he asks.

“No, not at all.”

“What do you want to do, Summer?” he asks, leaning down and gently kissing my cheek, just beside my ear and down the column of my neck.

“I don’t want you to stop doing this,” I say in a breathy sigh, arching my neck to allow him more space to lay his soft kisses that are driving me wild.

“I don’t want to stop either, but I think we’ve both been drinking and should continue this tomorrow when we’re both sober, is that okay?”

“But you wanted to talk?”

“And we did. I think that this can be the start of something, something absolutely soulful and amazing. I want you to go to sleep thinking about what you want, and we can talk about it over breakfast. How does that sound?” he asks.

“I can do that,” I say with a smile.

“Good, sweet dreams, Summer,” he stands up, does a slight bounce on his feet as I stand as well, I walk over to the door to my bedroom.

“Where are you going?” he asks.

“Bathroom,” I reply.

“Oh right,” he nods.

“Did you think that I was following you?” I put my hand on my hip.

He looks embarrassed and stutters as I walk down the hall to the main bathroom across from Mason’s room and disappear inside.

Shaw is standing against the wall outside of his bedroom when I emerge. I almost stop in my steps but continue forward anyway.

“Good night, Shaw,” I reply, lingering as I slowly past him.

He reaches out and grabs my wrist after I pass and pulls me to him.

“I want one more kiss before going to sleep,” he whispers against my lips. He kisses softly, his tongue lashing out lightly, but this kiss is sweet and longing, not rushed, not full of magnetism and definitely showing that there will be more of this to come.
