“Um, no. I got back to work after lunch—wait a minute—I don’t need to explain anything to you. What are you doing here, Quinn?” I cross my arms.
“I’m hungry, and you’ve got to eat dinner. So, let’s have dinner.”
“You’re my—”
“I know, I’m your boss, you are my employee, blah blah. Can’t we just be Sidney and Quinn? Two people who met before they began working together enjoying a meal together?”
I take a deep breath and look at him, really look at him. He’s basically begging, and a girl can only say ‘no’ so much. Besides, I could eat.
“So, what’s for dinner?” I ask.
He relaxes his shoulders and smiles. “I heard that there’s some delicious street tacos nearby.”
