“You’re beautiful,” the boy that was gaping at me finally said, and I giggled as I looked down at him.

“Ethan!” The woman laughed as she pulled the children toward her. “You take after your uncle.” She clicked her tongue as she hugged Alexander. He kissed her cheek, and she pushed him away, walking toward me. “Hi, I’m Sophia, the twins' mother.” She introduced herself as she wrapped her arms around my body. “Nice to meet you.” She groaned softly, and my heart immediately swelled up. The hug was so warm.

“Wait, I want to hug her too!” another feminine voice called out as it rushed toward us, but hers was much softer. “I’m Olivia!” She greeted me as she pulled me into her arms, squealing. “Sophia’s older twin.” This hug was more of a crushing one than warm.

“That piece of information is unnecessary,” Sophia said, and her sister giggled. So she’s the lively one between the two.

Alexander never mentioned that this was a family of twins. A true shock!

“Hello,” I said softly as I stared at the identical twins. The only way I could tell them apart was because of their shirts. “I’m Naomi.”

“Aww, it’s so great to meet you, babe!” Alexander cleared his throat, and the twins rolled their eyes. “Lia is mine, and her brother is sitting with his grandfather, father, and uncle,” Olivia said, and Sophia chipped in.

“My husband.” Sophia smiled. How was Alexander so gloomy when he had such energetic sisters? “Come meet our mother!” They grabbed my hands and pulled me along with them. I looked at Alexander, shocked, and he just shrugged, turning his attention back to Lia.

“Ma!” Olivia called out. “Seth brought a guest!”

“I told you not to call me by that name!” Alexander shouted, and Olivia stuck out her tongue; it was not as if he could see her. “And you better stick that tongue back in your mouth!” Oh, he just knows her.

“Do you have any siblings?” Sophia suddenly asked me as she let go of my arm, and I shook my head.

“Only child,” I whispered as I faced forward. That must be the mother. She turned around, and my eyes widened as I took in her bright brown eyes. Her bob-cut dark hair reached her shoulders, and her silver hair blended in with the dark locks. “Nice to meet you, Mrs. Harris.” I smiled but I was pretty sure she could tell I was nervous as fuck! My boobs wouldn’t stop sweating!

“Call me Maya.” She smiled kindly as she threw her towel over her shoulder. “Do you know your way around the kitchen?”

“I take instructions well.” I swallowed and the twin sisters giggled. Did I answer wrong?

“Good, come help me with this pork tenderloin.” Had I ever mentioned how much I loved Mia? It was as if she’d prepared me for this moment.

“Yes, ma’am.” I followed after her and listened to her instructions well, and even mentioned how red wine always gave it an unexpected kick, and she seemed to love Mia’s recipe.

Mia added alcohol into almost everything—one of the reasons I loved her.

“Did you meet any of the men?” she asked me as we chopped some of the vegetables together. The twins were in charge of the baked sweet goods while Maya and I were in charge of the pots.

“Not yet, just the twins,” I answered, and she snorted.

“You won’t like their company anyway.” We laughed together, and I felt as if this were a second home. Everyone so far was really kind to me, and I didn’t feel as if I was intruding.

“So, how do you like working at the club?” Sophia asked as she leaned against the island.

“I love it. There’s different characters that make my day interesting,” I answered honestly.

“Have you met Leo?” Olivia asked, and I turned to face her, raising my eyebrow. “He’s hot, isn’t he?”

“He’s got nothing on Jeff,” Maya said, and my eyes widened as a shocked laugh left my lips.

“Tell the truth, Naomi.” Sophia laughed as she took a sip of her drink. “You know they’re telling the truth. Just because you’re with my brother doesn’t mean you’re blind.”

“She might as well be,” Alexander said as he opened the fridge, grabbing a pack of beer.

“Boo!” the women chanted, and Alexander rolled his eyes as he walked away. “So?” Olivia turned to face me again, and I motioned to the girls to come closer.

“Jeff is hotter. He smells really good, too,” I whispered, and they squealed as we all separated. “Don’t tell your brother I said that.”

“Don’t worry, his ego wouldn’t even budge just from that.” Sophia rolled her eyes, and I laughed. I really loved the relationship they had. “While we’re still on that topic, is he doing any better in his sessions? He once called Mom and whined about how he’s forced to attend the therapy sessions.”

“Consultation sessions,” I corrected, but it was clear she didn’t care about the difference. To answer her question, yes, Alexander was way better than when I’d met him. It sometimes felt like I was dealing with someone different.
