What is Peter Pan’s favorite place to eat?
Wendy’s.
“Yeah, thanks, Jade. We’ll sort it, don’t worry,” I say, hanging up my phone and turning to the others.
“Is Cherry ok?” Brad asks nervously.
We’re all gathered in Braylen’s office, still no closer to figuring out who put the brick through her window or how the photo of us ended up on that news site.
We’ve had no contact with our girl for three days now, and we’ve been worried sick. Somehow, we resorted to messaging her best friend for even the smallest updates, not wanting to bother her, but we’ve been losing our minds since she threw us out of her house.
“She’s fine… I think. We have another problem, though.”
“What?” Macon asks. His face has been in a permanent scowl since we left her house, and a part of me can’t help but smirk at how bad he’s got it for her after being a fuckboy for the last few years.
“She’s going to go on another date.”
They all start throwing questions at me that I don’t have answers to and I lose it.
I let out a shrill whistle, shutting them all up.
“I don’t have all the answers you are looking for, ok? All Jade told me was that she was going to try to go on another date through your app, and if we don’t want to lose her, we need to get our shit together,” I say.
“I have the perfect idea then,” Braylen says, his eyes gleaming from whatever plan just popped into his head. “Lucas!”
“Yeah, boss?” Lucas appears quickly like he was waiting on the other side of the door.
“Can you get me Trevor from IT? And call Sandra from the jewelry store down the street.”
“Sure thing.” He snarks, scowling as he walks away.
“Your assistant is really fucking weird,” Brad says, voicing what we are all thinking.
“He’s only been like this the last few days. I have no clue what his problem is lately,” Braylen doesn’t look up from the laptop in front of him.
“What’s the plan then?” Macon asks, “Because I’m assuming you have one.”
“She wants another date, so she’s going to get one.”
