I found that she had completely stripped down and was in it. I could see her clothes discarded by the corner, and that she was in nothing more than her underwear.

That, in my opinion, was too much clothing, so when I stripped down, I made sure to strip all the way down.

The moment I was naked, her mouth fell open, and instantly she looked behind her to be sure that no one else could see us. Our lodging was quite private, but still, there was very little barrier between us and the ocean beyond and the rest of the world. I didn’t care. I got into the pool.

I had a pool in my apartment back in New York, but I had been so occupied over the past few years that I couldn't even recall the last time I had used it leisurely. Most times I went to the gym in the office, took a shower, and headed straight to my office. This was the most relaxed I had felt in so long, and the fact that I was spending it with her was more good fortune than I could process. And so, as she came over to me, and I could feel that she too had completely discarded her clothes, I crushed her body to me and kissed her.

“Good fortune,” I said, and she was slightly startled.

“What?” she asked.

“Nothing,” I said and kissed her again. She melted completely into me.

Chapter Thirty-Six

Madison

“So you two have been doing nothing but having sex all day?” Emma asked.

I laughed at this because I wished it was true. It wasn’t true, but then I started to wonder why it wasn't.

“Hey!” she called, and I came back to the present. I was combing through my hair and just about to turn on the dryer. I glanced towards the locked door, then and thought.

“What’s going through your mind?” she asked.

“I don’t know, I'm just wondering why we haven’t been having sex all day, but it feels like heaven so far.”

“You had sex on the plane and then in the pool!” she exclaimed, and I laughed at this.

“We didn’t have sex in the pool; we just fooled around, and you wouldn't believe, but we raced a few laps to see who would be fastest.”

“Let me guess, he let you win,” she rolled her eyes, and I shook my head.

“No, he didn’t. He beat me every time, and then I got tired, and we just basked in the sun then fell asleep. We're going to have lunch now, that's why I'm getting ready.”

“Wow, you really are having a blast,” she said, “while I, on the other hand, have to find a new manufacturer.”

“Why? What happened?” I asked as I massaged the oil into my hair. “I thought you were already set since last month.”

“Well, he suddenly brought up some excuses about the materials being more difficult to acquire than he had expected, and so he’s had to increase my minimum order quantity.”

I sighed as I listened to her and then lowered down to stare at her.

“All of this talk of your work is making me want to start baking again.”

“What?” she asked, shocked. “Are you serious? Didn’t you quit because you were burnt out?”

“Yeah, but I think I want to try again. I keep thinking of it, and I never stop doing it. I just think I was trying to do too much at the same time. This time around, I think I might want to focus on just one specialty. Maybe cheesecakes? I suddenly want a cheesecake. Anyway, back to you, I’m good at sourcing out things. Want me to find something and do some research for you? You seem like you need some help and sleep.”

“I’d love that,” she said, “but there’s too much you don’t understand about it.”

“That’s not a problem; I'll go through your conversation history,”

Her mouth fell open.

“You’re joking,” she said.

I shook my head.
