Cole looked at me as he ramped up his smartass response. I could see it coming from a mile away.

“I’m not sure you have anything left that I haven’t seen hundreds of times.”

I laughed at him. “No, smartass. I want to show you this.” I shook my phone at him.

“Really? Why do I need to look at Twitter?”

“You need to see this. Because if this is true, and it’s who they say it is, our world might change soon.” I grinned at him.

Cole looked at me quizzically, then let out a sigh of exasperation.

Reaching for my phone, he studied the photo. “Okay. Who is that? Should I know them?”

I grinned. “You’ve definitely heard his name. Well, the tall one anyway.”

“Who is it already?”

I grinned at him. “If the comments are true, and it looks like him, that’s Alex Hayes.” I wiggled my eyebrows at him.

“Okay,” he deadpanned. “Yeah.”

I smacked his bare ass with my free hand, causing him to yelp.

“Stop that, footballer! You know how that turns me on! You tease!”

“Cole,” I chuckled, “that’s the quarterback of the Portland Pirates.” I raised my brows and notched my head closer to him, knowing he had to see the significance of this.

“Okay,” he said, eyeing me. “Why do I care about Alex Hayes kissing some guy?”

I just watched his face as the pieces filled in the puzzle. He was getting the significance now.

“Patrick, is he gay?” His eyes were wide now.

“I don’t think so. Probably bi. He’s divorced from his wife, and they have two kids.”

Cole looked back at my phone, then his eyes narrowed.

“Where’d it go? Refresh the page.”

I looked at my phone, then scrolled up and down. The picture had disappeared, much to my confusion.

“It’s gone, but you saw it, right?” I asked, making sure it wasn’t my imagination.

“Yeah, babe, I saw it.” He paused, obviously thinking about what that might mean.

“Patrick, if he’s the quarterback and he’s kissing a guy, that’s going to be out within the hour. And that could mean…” he trailed off, excitement in his eyes.

I shook my head as a smile broke across my lips.

“If that’s actually Alex Hayes, and he’s bi, we might get to come out. Or at the very least, Portland could be where I need to be.”

Cole nodded slowly, the beautiful smile I loved lighting up his face and my heart.

“We should celebrate the possibility.” I placed kisses on all of his skin I could reach.

Cole smirked at me. He knew what I was saying. He could read me like a book. Growing up with the love of your life could do that for you.

“Where were we before I was interrupted?”
