“It is your project,” Bassem replied.

“I am used to supervising all projects but not being so hands-on.”

“You don’t have the confidence to get the job done?”

“No, I can do it.”

“Good.” Bassem rose to his feet. “Come to my office on Wednesday. We will finalize everything and then we will go to the site,” he said to her. Blake sprang to her feet.

“Yes sir,” she replied.

“Don’t make me regret hiring you.”

“Yes sir.”

“Why do you keep looking at me in such a strange way?”

“Am I?” Blake gasped.

“Is there something on your mind?”

“Yes there is.”

“Is it something you wish to share with me?”

Blake smiled and shook her head. “It’s not a big deal, apparently,” she said. Bassem crossed his eyebrows. She was behaving rather strangely.

“Okay.” He turned and left her office. The perky receptionist sprang up to her feet as Bassem walked into the reception area.

“Are you leaving already?” she asked Bassem.

“Yes,” he replied. She bowed her head to him.

“Have a good day, sheikh,” she said.

“Mmm, thanks.” Bassem raised an eyebrow. The receptionist was always overly cheerful. It was too much for him.
