“You must hand-wash everything,” he said to her. Fiona stopped walking and looked at him.

“Hand-wash?” she repeated.

“Yes.”

Fiona gasped. There was a quite a lot of clothes, sheets and towels to wash. Daniel looked up from his guitar and flashed a cheeky grin. “Is that too much for you to handle?” he asked her.

“No, we don’t have a washing machine at home. It uses up too much electricity and water. I can hand-wash your stuff,” she said. She headed out of his room and went to ask one of the maids to show her where the laundry room was. The maid escorted Fiona to Daniel’s private laundry room. She filled one of the sinks with water and soap. She put his laundry in the sink and started washing it.

She knew that he was trying to make her suffer. He probably thought that she would complain because he asked her to hand-wash his clothes. However, it was not going to be that easy for him. She was not going to give up easily.

Fiona returned to Daniel’s bedroom when she was finished washing his clothes. “I have finished,” she said to him.

“Go and make me a sandwich,” he said to her.

“How would you like your sandwich?”

“I want a turkey sandwich. Make sure you use brown bread, add lettuce, cucumbers, only two slices of tomato, a pinch of salt and two teaspoons of mustard.”

Fiona raised an eyebrow. He was incredibly precise about what how he wanted his sandwich. “Would you like to have a drink as well?” she asked.

“Coffee,” he replied.

“How do you want your coffee?”

“Strong with one teaspoon of honey.”

“Okay.” Fiona headed for the kitchen. She made his food exactly how he had said he wanted it. She returned to his bedroom moments later with his food. She placed the food on the table. “Here you are,” she said to him.

“Go clean the bathroom while I eat,” he said. Fiona just nodded and headed for the bathroom. It was so difficult to do chores in his quarters because they were large. His bathroom was massive and it was going to take some time.

When Fiona was finished cleaning, she sat down on the floor. She needed to take a breath. Daniel had been running her around since she had got there and she knew that he was doing it on purpose.

“What are you doing?” Daniel asked as he entered the bathroom. Fiona turned to look at him.

“I am finished cleaning,” she replied.

“Then you should come and tell me that.”

“Do you need anything else?” Fiona rose to her feet. Just as Daniel was about to speak, she cut him off. “Not to do with cleaning. I mean do you need anything? Do you want to go for a walk outside or something?” she asked.

“I can’t walk.”

“I’m sorry, I mean would you like to get some fresh air?”

“No.”

“I think that will be good for you.” Fiona walked around him and grabbed the handles on the back of his wheelchair and started pushing him.

“So your plan is to push me outside against my will?” Daniel asked.

“Kind of but it’s not a good plan because your wheelchair is electric and you could easily press one button and you could go where you want.”

Daniel didn’t reply, so Fiona kept pushing. They headed out of his quarters and took a right turn.

“It’s the other way,” Daniel said. He pressed a button on his wheelchair to turn it.

“Oh.” Fiona laughed a little. “I am still not used to this place.”
