Chapter 20

Emma

The maids had taken Emma to the most beautiful bedroom she had ever seen. The floors were made of white marble. An expensive chandelier hung from the high ceiling. There was a massive bed with a cream tufted headboard with cream and royal purple bedding. The room looked like one from an expensive hotel.

Emma decided to take a shower while she waited for Kiro. She changed into a dress. She had only packed dresses and skirts for the trip. She had read about the El Sourialian culture before coming over. Women were to dress appropriately in the palace; no body-hugging or revealing clothing.

There was knock on the door. “Come in,” Emma called out. Kiro walked into the room. He stood in front of her and slipped his hands in his pockets. He looked at Emma slowly from head to toe.

“You look nice,” he said to her.

“Thank you,” Emma replied with a smile. “How did the talk go with your father?”

“He found out about the kidnapping.”

Emma raised her eyebrows. “How did he find out?” she asked. She knew that Kiro had kept it a secret from his parents.

“He knows the chief of the Dallas police,” he said. Emma gasped.

“Ahh. Was he angry that you didn’t tell him?”

“He was.”

“What’s going to happen now?”

“He is going to try to find out who is behind it.” Kiro snaked an arm around Emma and pulled her closer to him. He ran his hand through her hair and kissed her on the forehead.

“What is the plan for the day?” she asked.

“It was a long journey from Dallas. We both need to rest.”

“I am a bit tired but I’m also hungry.”

“I’ll have one of the maids bring you breakfast,” he said to her.

“That’ll be nice, thank you,” she replied.

“My room is just down the hall if you need me.”

Kiro kissed Emma’s lips before he headed out of the room. Emma smiled to herself. She liked being in his arms and being able to kiss him. He had just held her and kissed as if those were things that he did all the time.

The maids brought her breakfast about twenty minutes later. This was all new to Emma. She wasn’t used to flying on a jet with a prince and then getting served by maids. Emma took her phone and called Madison.

“Hey,” Emma greeted Madison when she had answered the phone.

“Hey Emma. How was your flight?” she asked.

“It was fine. It took us over ten hours to get here.”

“That’s a long flight.”

“Tell me about it.”

“So where are you now? What are you doing?”

“I’m at the palace right now and I’m having breakfast,” Emma replied.

“Breakfast? What time is it there now?” Madison replied.
