Chapter 19

Kiro

“My receptionist,” he replied plainly.

“Okay,” she replied. She looked disappointed but she was clearly trying to hide it. Kiro held her chin again and gently turned her head to face him. He searched her grey eyes.

“Emma,” he said softly.

“Yes?”

“You are my receptionist.”

“You’ve already said that,” she spat out.

“My talkative, beautiful, reckless and brave receptionist.” Kiro continued caressing her jaw.

“You think I’m beautiful?” Emma looked into Kiro’s eyes.

“I do,” he replied. Kiro understood that when Emma asked him what she was to him, she was asking about their relationship. He hadn’t claimed her as his woman or talked about a relationship with her. All the women he had ever been with often asked him if he had feelings for them.

However, it was different with Emma. He thought she was adorable when she asked him. She was just so shy. She couldn’t directly ask him if he had feelings for her. It was so cute. Kiro pressed his lips against her soft lips. Her lips felt just as good as they did when he had kissed her in Mexico.

Kiro ran his hand through her silky, wavy brunette locks as he kissed her. Her lips felt so good. He pulled her closer to him and deepened the kiss. Emma touched his forearm and responded to his kiss.

Kiro broke off the kiss moments later. He looked at Emma’s face. She shyly looked down and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. Her cheeks had turned bright red. “I’ve never had a woman like you,” he said to her.

“Is that a good thing?” she asked.

“Maybe.”

Emma looked up and crossed her eyebrows. “Maybe?” she asked. Kiro grinned at her cheekily.

“You’re a special woman and so you need to be treated with respect.”

“Is that why you didn’t kiss me since Mexico?”

Kiro raised his eyebrows. “You were disappointed that I didn’t kiss you for two weeks?” he asked. He had wanted to kiss her but he held himself back. In the past, his relationships with women were strictly physical. He was never able to connect with them on an intellectual or emotional level.

“That’s not what I said,” Emma mumbled. “I just thought maybe you were regretting it.”

“If you wanted to kiss me, why didn’t you do so?” he asked her. Emma giggled and looked away.

“It’s not that easy,” she said.

“It’s very easy. My lips are here if you need them.”

Emma’s cheeks turned red again. “Oh gosh,” she said. She picked up her book and pretended to read it. He knew very well that she had not read a single word on that jet. The first time she had taken it out, she had been looking at Kiro. Now she was pretending to read it because she was avoiding eye contact with Kiro. His words had made her so shy.

“My father summoned me back to El Sourial,” he said to her. Emma looked up at him.

“Did he? Does that mean you’re in trouble?” she asked him. Kiro laughed softly.

“No. It doesn’t mean that I’m in trouble. He probably has something important to discuss with me.”

“Summon, that word just sounds so serious.”

“I’m not in trouble. So don’t worry.” Kiro winked at her. Emma curled her upper lip.
