Emma raised her eyebrows. “I do?” she asked. Of course she stood out. She had looked so beautiful at the gala. Kiro was surprised that she wasn’t aware of just how beautiful she was.

“I guess you don’t own a mirror,” he said with a cheeky smirk. Emma rolled her eyes before she burst into laughter.

“The sheikh has a sense of humor,” she said.

“What made you think that I don’t?”

“You don’t talk much. It’s very difficult for me to know what you are thinking.”

“You wish to know my thoughts?”

“I wish to have a conversation with you that doesn’t involve me being the only person talking.”

“You talk a lot. So it can’t be helped.”

Emma sighed. “I don’t talk that much,” she mumbled. She cut a piece of meat and ate it. Kiro smiled to himself. She was adorable.

“I take it that you don’t have a lover,” he said. Emma looked up from her plate with her eyes widened. She placed her hand over her mouth and started laughing. “What is amusing?” Kiro asked her.

“The word lover,” she said and started laughing again. “It’s such an odd word. A lover sounds like someone you just sleep with.”

“I’ll rephrase. Are you in a relationship with a man?”

“No sheikh, I am not. Are you?”

“I’m not interested in men.”

“I mean, are you in a relationship with a woman?”

“No.”

“Why not?” she asked. She looked surprised.

“Why aren’t you in a relationship?” he asked her.

“This is different. You are a handsome, intelligent and rich sheikh. I don’t think you would have problems finding a girlfriend,” she explained. Kiro raised his eyebrows slightly. So that was what she thought of him; handsome and intelligent.

“I don’t have problems,” he replied.

“How come you’re not married?”

“Should I be?”

“You’re already thirty and a crown prince. I’m sure you are expected to be having an heir soon.”

She was very much correct. He was expected to have an heir. “My mother is working on that,” he said.

“Working on what?” she asked.

“She is looking for a wife for me.”

“An arranged marriage?” Emma looked surprised. Kiro started telling Emma all about his mother and her wish for him to be married. He found himself telling her a lot more information than she needed to know. It was oddly easy to speak to her. Her responses were very animated. She was very fun and easy to talk to.

After they were finished eating, they went for a walk in Kiro’s backyard. His yard was quite massive and stretched for miles. Emma talked to him about her family and her town. Kiro found himself getting curious about her life. He really wanted to know more about her.

On their way back to the house, it started raining. “Oh no!” Emma cried out.

“Let’s hurry back to the house,” Kiro said to Emma.
