I understood why Bolt would be pissed. His brother was a good guy, and he got the raw end of the deal. Still, I would not tolerate any disrespect to my old lady. He had better put a lid on his attitude. I opened the door and waited for Dawn to walk in ahead of me. We saw Cajun sitting by the pool table with a beer in his hand. I leaned down and kissed my girl then nodded for her to go talk to him. I walked over to the bar area and got myself a beer while I waited and watched.
I saw her sit down across from him and they talked for a few minutes. I noticed Cajun looking over at me a few times and he’d say something then she would shake her head. After they talked for about ten minutes he got up and stormed out. I heard him rev his bike and take off. He was followed by his brother a few minutes later. My girl put her head in her hands, and I could tell she was upset. I put my beer down and went over to her.
“What the fuck did he say to you baby?” I asked her as she looked up at me with her eyes shining with tears. “Do I need to go beat his ass?”
“No baby, he’s right. I led him on and then changed my mind. I may not have meant to do it but that’s what happened. He has every right to be pissed. I hope he will eventually be my friend again. I just have to give him space.” she said as she leaned against me.
“He’ll be okay. He’s a good-looking kid and will find someone of his own eventually. Let’s go grab some food and head back home.” I told her as I started to lead her out. Lillian stopped us before we could get out the door.
“I hear we are having another pet adoption day a week from Saturday. There will be a huge cookout. Can you two bring something?” Lillian asked as she was writing in a notebook.
“Sure, I can bake some brownies.” Dawn said as she smiled at Lillian. “We are headed home to eat. I have to get up early to take care of the animals. See you later.”
“Thanks, see you soon. We will have to plan a girls spa day.” Lillian smiled at us as Fury came up behind her and kissed her on the forehead. Their daughter, Emma was sitting at the table coloring.
“I’d like that. Goodnight.” She whispered as we headed home. “Can we just have breakfast food for dinner?”
“Whatever you want Baby.” I told her as we walked into our house. Why don’t you go get dressed for bed while I fix dinner. I can tell you are exhausted, and you have to get up early. I think I’ll come with you in the morning and help since I’m on leave.” It sounded like a good idea, and I could spend time with my girl. I watched Dawn head toward the master bathroom so I went to see what I could scrounge up for dinner. We had bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and bread for toast. Breakfast it is. I pulled out a pan and started the bacon in the oven, while that cooked, I friedthe hashbrowns and then the eggs. Last was the toast which I buttered for her. She came out of our bedroom with her damp hair braided to the side, wearing one of my t-shirts. She looked adorable.
“That smells so good.” She said as her stomach rumbled. She blushed and giggled. I loved it.
“Sit down baby, it’s all ready. Would you like milk, juice or water?” I asked her, knowing it was too late for coffee.
“I’ll have milk. Thank you for fixing dinner.” She said as she picked up a piece of bacon and started to eat. “Do you have any hobbies?”
“I like building things. I made most of the wood furniture in the house myself.” I told her as we ate. “What do you like to do?”
“I like to take pictures and draw. I haven’t had much time to do either in quite some time.” She looked a little sad when she said it. I wanted her to have time to do the things she enjoyed. When we finished eating, she insisted on cleaning the kitchen. I enjoyed taking care of her, but I wanted her to feel at home, so I didn’t argue. When she finished, I caught a huge yawn come out and smiled at her.
“I think it’s time my girl was in bed.” I said as I picked her up and carried her to our bed. She laughed as I spun her once before laying her in the middle of the bed. I saw the heat in her eyes as I stripped down to my boxers for bed. She crawled over to me and pulled them down, wrapping her hand and the base of my cock and holding my hip for support. After making sure she came about three times I pulled her into my arms to sleep. I never thought I would have this. I smiled as I spooned her and fell asleep.
I woke up to an empty bed and started to get worried when I heard the shower going. I got up, opened the bathroom door to see her soaping herself in the shower. Damn my old lady was hot! I wanted to join her but then we would be late. I settled for watching. She finished rinsing off and grabbed a towel to dry off when she spotted me. Smiling she walked over to me and stood on her tiptoes to kiss me good morning.
“Morning baby, hate I missed showering with you.” I told her as I leaned down to lick a drop of water from her breast. She moaned as she wrapped her hand in my hair.
“God Cole, you’re going to make us late if you start that.” She whimpered. I winked at her and kissed her quickly. “I’ll get dressed and go start the coffee while you get ready.”
I laughed as she ducked under my arm and dropped the towel, giving me a view of her naked body before closing the bathroom door. Damn, I couldn’t wait to get her home later and make good on the promise of her sweet body under me again. After throwing on some jeans and a t-shirt, I went to the kitchen for coffee.
I walked up behind my old lady, wrapped and arm around her waist and kissed her cheek. She turned and handed me a cup of coffee.
“You ready to go play with the animals?” she asked with a smile. I kissed her nose.
“You bet baby.” I said as we finished our coffee and climbed on my bike to drive to the end of the property where the Shelter was situated in its own gated area. Pulling up she waited for Cajunto open the gate. She didn’t try to wave or say anything. She was giving him space. I did the same because I knew what he had lost.
When we pulled to the front door we were met by Fang and Cara. They both looked really excited. Cole took my helmet off and hung it on his bike with his.
“Good morning. I see you brought help today.” Cara said as we walked in. “We are going to be making sure all of the new intakes have their vaccinations and I’ll be scheduling spays and neuters for the ones who need it. I want everything ready for the adoption day next Saturday. We are getting full again, so we definitely need to find homes for these babies.”
“She gets very animated about these events. The last one went so well we decided to do one monthly.” Fang said as he looked at me over Dawn’s shoulder. “Doc, how about the two of us go do the heavy lifting and the girls can do the fun stuff.”
“Sure thing. Baby, holler if you need anything.” I told her as I smacked her on the butt. She turned and looked at me in shock. I think she was surprised I did that in front of our friends. “What, you’re mine. That’s no secret. Have fun.”
