“Coffee?” he asked.

“Sure.”

He poured some into her mug and then took his seat.

“You didn’t tell me what Kunal spoke to you at the party.”

“You didn’t ask.”

He raised his head.

“I expect you to tell me everything that concerns the Maliks.”

“Why?” she gasped. “I mean… why don’t you end this enmity between your two families? I am sure your mother would want the same.”

Ranveer stopped eating. However hard he wanted to cut this topic here, he didn’t do it because Maya wouldn’t like it. She wanted him to talk, and he would do that no matter how difficult it was to share the reason behind his hatred for the Maliks.

“We will talk about this tonight,” he answered.

She didn’t deny. Pushing him too hard was the last thing on her mind.

“I think Ranveer Malhotra has a twin,” she suddenly said out of nowhere. She was glad that the iceberg of secrets between them was slowly melting. She didn’t hesitate to converse with him openly now. With every conversation, she was getting to know a little bit more of him.

Ranveer stopped eating to look back at her and apprehend what made her say that.

“Twin?”

“Hmm,” she finished her meal and wiped her lips with the napkin. “A good boy and the other a bad boy.”

A tiny smile softened his mouth. So, she thought he had good boy traits too? That’s new. He wondered if it would take him years to wipe his bad boy image from her head.

“Or you seriously suffer from multiple personality disorder,” she added mischievously.

Amused, he continued to glance at her. Though he was enjoying her teases, he knew how to shut her mouth.

“Maya Bajaj is teasing me?” Ranveer mocked. “Must be the kiss’s aftereffects,” he added darkly and as he had expected; she rubbed her thighs together under the table reminiscing those moments.

“Kiss?” a sharp voice interrupted them. Dhruv had just entered their home and heard what he shouldn’t have. Maya wanted to hide herself.

Ranveer welcomed him to the table.

“What a kissy morning it is, Bro. What do you think?” he sat next to his brother.

“Language,” Ranveer muttered.

“Oh. Now you want me to watch my language? What happened when you needed my assistance in winning Maya’s attention?”

Maya’s brow narrowed at the two. Dhruv bit his tongue for spilling that out whereas Ranveer sighed in frustration.

“That movie idea and all that seating arrangement was Dhruv’s plan?” Maya asked, giving a cold glare at Ranveer. His silence confirmed that.

“Sorry, Maya. But you see, Bro is very weak in this subject. He needed a push. Anyways, Kunal Bhai was telling me last night that Bro has proposed to you for marriage?”

“He has,” Maya nodded and checked her watch. “Sorry, Dhruv, cannot wait. I have to reach the office in an hour.”

“No problem, work comes first.”

“Bye.”
