Maya turned behind to see why they were not entering. Dhruv noticed that and faked a smile at her.

“Uh, we will get some popcorn,” he informed Maya and dragged Ranveer out.

“You think I am going to wait in this queue?” Ranveer snapped, looking at the long queue at the popcorn counter.

“You want her to accept your proposal?” Dhruv asked.

Ranveer understood his point. He was doing all of this to impress Maya, and there was no second thought to it.

He waited impatiently in the queue to buy popcorn while Dhruv bought soft drinks for everyone.

“Three popcorns, please,” Ranveer placed the order and took out his card to pay.

“Which flavor, sir?” the guy asked.

“Uh…” he was stuck. “Any.”

Dhruv reached him.

“What do you mean by ‘any’? You don’t know which flavor popcorn your girlfriend likes?” He teased.

Ranveer gritted his teeth.

“I don’t. Big deal.”

“Bro, you have dated so many girls and you still don’t have a clue?”

“I never took them to watch a movie, Dhruv, and stop wasting time here. How does the flavor even matter? She is here to watch a movie, not rate the best popcorns.”

Dhruv sighed in disappointment and looked back at the guy waiting to take their complete order.

“Make it two Caramel and one salted Popcorn. All large, please.”

Ranveer kept staring at his younger brother. He was like a pro at everything.

“Girls love Caramel,” he winked at Ranveer, who rolled his eyes again and made the payment. They finally got inside the auditorium and made their way to their respective seats. Maya was sitting next to Garima, keeping the two chairs beside her vacant for the boys. She had no clue who was sitting where, but she had made a wild guess. Ranveer kept getting calls frequently, so he might choose the corner seat to move out anytime to answer the calls. So, Dhruv should be the one sitting next to her, and she would be seriously happy if that happened.

“Popcorn, Aunty,” Dhruv passed one caramel bucket to Garima and the other to Maya. He then winked at Ranveer and took the corner seat, leaving the seat beside Maya exclusively for him. Maya shifted nervously when Ranveer took his seat, his arm touching hers in the process. Why couldn’t they book the recliner seats? At least they were broader.

“Tum theek ho?” (Are you okay?) Ranveer whispered to her.

She faked a smile and started munching the popcorn. Dhruv leaned over Ranveer to talk to Garima and Maya.

“I hope you like Caramel popcorn? Bro said you will like it.”

“It’s sweet and lovely,” Garima replied with a smile.

“Thank you,” Maya’s answer was very blunt compared to her mother's. “But I prefer the salted ones,” she lied. Somehow, she knew what Dhruv was trying to do. He was teaching his brother to impress a woman, and she wouldn't let Ranveer win that task so easily.

Ranveer gritted his teeth. Really? Was she being honest or trying to discard his simple efforts?

“Never mind,” Ranveer exchanged their popcorn tubs. “Have the salted.”

She liked that gesture from him but snatched the Caramel bucket back.

“You cannot eat that much sweet. So, I am okay with this one.”

Ranveer’s lips pressed into a thin line.
