She came out of her trance and snatched her phone.

“Thanks,” her eyes lowered, a subtle blush gracing her cheeks.

“Your mother must have told you about the movie plans,” he added, his voice low. “Don't be late. We will leave together by 08:00 p.m.”

“How did you plan a movie all of a sudden?” she asked, trying to break the tension.

“Dhruv's idea. He wants to spend some time with us, just the four of us.”

Maya nodded, relieved. No wonder this was Dhruv's idea. Ranveer Malhotra could not make such plans. As the elevator door opened, she got inside quickly. Ranveer waited, that smirk still on his face.

“Just to let you know,” Maya stopped the elevator doors from closing, “I am not very fond of romantic movies.”

Ranveer grinned seeing her nervousness. “I will keep that in mind,” he replied cryptically.

The doors of the elevator shut, and she took a sigh of relief. Watching a romantic movie with Ranveer Malhotra would be no less than a thrilling torture for her.

Multiplex – Evening

“Welcome,” Dhruv greeted Ranveer, Maya, and Garima as they got down from the car at the multiplex parking. “You guys are on time. And here are the tickets.”

Maya noticed Dhruv passing the tickets to them, checking the seat numbers carefully as if he had already decided who would sit where. As she and Garima walked ahead of the two brothers, Dhruv seized the opportunity to speak privately to Ranveer.

“Why did you deny a romantic movie?” he asked.

“She doesn’t like to watch such movies,” Ranveer replied bluntly.

“She is lying,” Dhruv said. “Every girl is romantic.”

Ranveer rolled his eyes.

“Doesn’t matter, Dhruv. Sitting next to her for two hours is enough for the starters, don’t you think?”

Dhruv grinned.

“You are so ambitious in everything except winning this woman’s attention.”

Ranveer had no clue why his brother said that.

“Look Bro, if it was a romantic movie, just imagine how Maya’s reactions would be seeing a romantic scene on the screen with you next to her.”

However, tempting it sounded, Ranveer knew she was not so easy to lure.

“Let’s not forget we have an old lady between us,” Ranveer snapped. “And it would be more awkward for you because you are the one sitting next to Maya’s mother.”

“You have a point.” He cleared his throat realizing his brother was right.

They reached the auditorium. Ranveer was about to follow Garima and Maya inside, but once again, his brother pulled him back.

“Wait.”

“What now?” he sounded irritated.

“Girls need to munch something while watching the movie.”

“Fine. Go get it,” he ordered.

“Me? No. We both should.”
