“Fuck,” Crow growled.

I turned, catching Sadie as she ran toward us. Carson was dragging Undertaker by the boots!

Hawk, Claw, and Cuckoo rushed to help.

I wasn’t sure how they managed to shove that big man into the SUV with us. Undertaker ended up in the back, and the vehicle sagged under his weight.

“Why is he with us?” Rebel asked, looking pissed.

“He’s magically subdued,” Carson promised as he sat behind the wheel, throwing it in drive.

Around us, howls split the air. The pack was converging.

Honestly, I thought they would have arrived sooner, but seeing Undertaker unconscious, I could guess why they got riled up.

We had to get out of here!

Carson sped away as wolves exited the forest. He pushed down on the gas, lurching the vehicle as we passed through the main gate. I noted it had been destroyed, like someone had demolished it.

Damn. They bulldozed through it on the way in.

I watched as the wolves gave chase, but they weren’t as fast. We left them behind as I sank into Crow’s embrace.

“You’re safe now, Bella. We’ll handle the wolves once we’re home.”

I rested my head on his shoulder and yawned. I needed a nap.

Chapter 10

“Ineed a shower,” I announced as we entered our upstairs apartment at The Roost. It had been a long and exhausting car ride, and I rested as often as I could, but it was challenging with all the conversation on the way back. I couldn’t even think of all that now.

Falcon met us halfway through the trip home, and he healed my ankle, promising I would feel better soon. He wasn’t lying. I hardly noticed the injury now. It was tender and sore but no longer painful to walk.

“C’mon, babe. I’ll take care of you.”

Crow led me to the bathroom and carefully undressed me, holding me against his side as he turned on the water and tested the temperature. The man knew exactly what I liked. He was a keeper.

Not to mention, he risked his life for me—more than once.

I stepped inside as he undressed, standing under the spray for a couple of minutes without moving. The hot water soothed my aching muscles and helped relax them.

“Let me lather you,” Crow offered as I nodded.

He poured some of my shampoo into his palm, and I moved to give him better access. His fingers massaged my scalp as he washed my hair, and it was heaven.

“You keep moaning like that, and I’m gonna think it’s an invitation for more.”

“Always sex on your brain.”

“With you, babe? Hell yeah.”

I rinsed the soap and applied conditioner, laughing as he soaped up my loofa.

His brows wiggled. “I’m gonna wash you thoroughly now.”

“Uh-huh.”

I was confident that Crow had magic fingers, even more so than Falcon when it came to knowing my body. The man had a tender yet bold touch. He caressed and stroked my skin as need darkened his eyes.
