“So, tell me about him.”

“Okay. Well, his name is Mark.”

Trina’s eyes go wide, and she starts flailing her arms. “Wait! Mark? Mark as in the new guy at Lexington?”

I nod.

“You saucy minx!”

“I’m far from a minx,” I deadpan.

“Umm, says the woman dating the new hot guy of the building.”

“It’s not like that. He’s just Mark. He’s always been—”

“Wait.” Trina picks up my picture from the hike. “Isn’t this guy named Mark?”

“Umm-hmm.” I nod.

“So Hike Mark and Lexington Mark are… ”

I keep nodding. “The same person.”

Trina starts hitting me. I wave my hands in surrender. “Stop hitting me!”

“Sorry. I’m just so excited for you!” She leans, in closer and whispers, “He’s so hot!”

I roll my eyes.

“Yes, he is attractive, but he’s so much more than that,” I gush. I can’t help it.

Trina sits back down in her chair. “Well, I’m happy for you.”

“Thanks. It’s still new, but I feel really good about this.”

“And apparently he can’t stop thinking about you either.” Trina waggles her eyebrows as she hands me my phone.

Mark: Hey, beautiful. Missed seeing you this morning.

Millie: I came in early to try and catch up on some work.

Millie: I missed you, too.

Mark: Are you available for lunch today?

Millie: I have lunch plans already, but I’m available for dinner.

Mark: Work lunch?

Millie: No.

Mark: Have a hot date or something?

Millie: Or something.

Mark: Oh…

Millie: Mark, relax. I meant what I said last night. I’m all in.
