Those traitorous Italian bastards don’t even know that they’re actually helping me. After all of this is over, I’ll have to make sure they pay. Though, I’m sure I’ll have to fight Ray for the honour.

Looking to my left, I see the fresh anger on his face. All the jokes have been torn out of him. He’s pissed.

Good. We all should be pissed.

Silently, we race through the darkness until we spot the first guards up ahead. For the next one block radius, the streets are crawling with Greek fuckers—or, at least, the streets are crawling with fuckers who are working for the Greeks.

Castor thinks Retsos has bought a foreign army with the money he secured from finally getting a hold of his long lost treasure.

Castor talked…

Fuck. I don’t exactly blame the man. One can only last so long under such intense torture.

“Is everyone ready?” I whisper, staring at our first pair of victims through the shadows.

“Let’s spill some blood,” Ray says.

I’m just about to give the go ahead when I feel a buzz in my pocket. The vibration rattles the wound in my thigh enough that I want to roar from the sudden burst of pain. But I bite down on my lip and rip the phone out instead.

“What?” I growl.

“Don’t you dare start without me,” Roman shouts. “I’m on my way.”

“This isn’t your battle, brother. You’ve got a kid coming. Stay away.”

“You know I can’t do that.”

“Fine, then call Castor. You can help him from the rooftop. But I don’t have time to negotiate. Shit is about to get serious.”

“Alright. Good luck in there. Go get her.”

“Thanks, brother. See you on the other side.”

With that, I hang up and slip my phone back into my pocket. My whole leg throbs and my shoulder stings, but I bite back the pain.

If we fail, this physical pain will pale in comparison to the pain in my heart.

“Maksim, kill those two fuckers up ahead. Quietly.”

My second-in-command doesn’t need to be told twice. As silently as any shadow, he slips ahead, keeping close to the alley walls until he’s practically right next to the patrolling pigs.

It only takes the blink of an eye for him to cut both of their throats.

When he waves us forward, we know shit is on.

“No fair,” Ray grumbles, unable to help himself. “You gave him a head start.”

“Stop whining and make up for it,” I snap back. “Go to the right. I’ll send Maksim to the left. Don’t fire until I shoot first. Understand?”

“Aye aye.”

Ray disappears down another alley as I pull up on Maksim. “Go left,” I whisper. “Wait for my signal.”

He only has to nod.

Just like that, I’m on my own again. But this time, I’ve brought the combined firepower of the Russians, the Irish and the Greeks to aid me.

There’s no doubt in my mind that we’re going to be able to obliterate every fucker at this factory. But that’s also not the goal.
