I spend hours deliberating over potential venues and activities, trying to come up with the ideal plan for our time together.

Should we go for a romantic dinner at that new Italian restaurant downtown? Or perhaps a leisurely stroll through the park, followed by coffee at a cozy cafe?

Each option seems fraught with uncertainty, and I can’t shake the feeling of apprehension that gnaws at me.

What if she doesn’t enjoy the restaurant I choose or finds the park too crowded? What if I’m not able to live up to her expectations?

But despite my nerves, there’s also a sense of excitement bubbling within me. This date with Jessy represents a chance for us to spend time together outside of work and get to know each other on a deeper level other than sex.

I know that I’ll do whatever it takes to make it a memorable and enjoyable experience for her.

I find myself surrounded by laughter and chatter as I sit on the plush sofa in Drake’s apartment, surrounded by some of my closest friends. It’s meant to be a casual gathering before my date with Jessy, but I can’t shake off the nerves that are buzzing beneath the surface.

Drake, ever the joker, keeps teasing me about my jittery state. “Ethan, you look like you’re about to face a firing squad, not going on a date,” he quips, earning chuckles from the others.

I roll my eyes, trying to play it cool. “Yeah, yeah, laugh it up,” I retort, though there’s a hint of amusement in my tone.

Deep down, I appreciate their lighthearted banter—it helps to ease the tension knotting in my stomach.

As the conversation flows, I find myself absentmindedly tapping my fingers against the armrest of the sofa, my mind racing with thoughts of Jessy. It’s strange, really—I’ve been on countless dates in the past, but for some reason, this one feels different.

Drake notices my preoccupied state and nudges me playfully. “So, spill the beans. What’s got you so worked up about this date?”

I hesitate for a moment, unsure how to articulate the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside me.

“I don’t know, man,” I admit finally, running a hand through my hair. “I guess I really like her, and I want tonight to be special.”

“Wow, you seem to like this girl more than I thought you did.”

“Yeah, I guess I do,” I reply with a chuckle, trying to brush off Drake’s teasing. “But it’s not just about liking her. There’s something different about Jessy, you know? She’s not like the other women I’ve dated.”

Drake raises an eyebrow, intrigued. “Different how?”

“Well, for starters, she doesn’t seem to care about my wealth,” I explain. “She treats me like any other person. It’s refreshing, you know? To be around someone who sees me for who I am, not what I have.”

Drake nods in understanding, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. “I get it. It’s rare to find someone like that, especially in our circles.”

“Exactly,” I agree. “And that’s why I want this date to be perfect. I want Jessy to see that I’m serious about her, that I’m not just another guy trying to win her over with fancy dinners and expensive gifts.”

Drake claps me on the back with a knowing grin. “Well, I have a feeling she already knows that. Just be yourself, man. That’s all she really wants.”

I nod, taking Drake’s words to heart. “Thanks, man. I’ll keep that in mind.”

I walk into my house, hoping for a moment of peace before I have to start getting ready for my date with Jessy. However, as soon as I step through the door, I’m greeted by the sight of my sister, Amy, lounging on the couch with a mischievous grin.

“Surprise!” she chirps, flashing me a grin that’s all too familiar. “Hope you don’t mind me dropping by unannounced.”

I sigh inwardly, but plaster a polite smile on my face. “Amy, how many times do I have to tell you? You can’t just show up here whenever you feel like it.”

She waves off my admonishment with a dismissive flick of her hand. “Oh relax, Ethan. I won’t stay long, I promise.”

I resist the urge to roll my eyes, knowing that arguing with her is like trying to stop a speeding train. Instead, I decide to change the subject. “So, what brings you here?” I ask, trying to sound casual.

Her eyes light up with mischief as she leans forward. “Word on the street is that you’ve got a hot date tonight,” she says, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. “Care to share the details?”

I feel a pang of annoyance prickling at the back of my neck. “Amy, I’m not in the mood for your games right now,” I reply tersely, rubbing a hand over my face.

But Amy just grins wider, unfazed by my irritation. “Oh, come on, Ethan. You can’t blame a sister for being curious,” she teases.
