“Don’t slow down. Fuck, don’t stop,” Tav said, breath hitching.

The desperation did something to me. I pulled off his tit. “Stop moving. Let me do it.”

“No,” he whined.

I bit his nipple hard, and his hips stilled. As I unclenched my teeth, he whimpered, and I took over hammering my hips against him, directing the speed. He wrapped his arms so firmly around me I could barely breathe, sobbing against my neck. I loved that I was in control of him, playing his hard body like a video game and hitting all the high scores.

Tav sucked on my neck, and the heat and pressure undid something in me. I snapped and slammed him hard against the wall, then pounded my body into his. He let out a tiny gasp, a hitch in his breath that gusted directly into my ear, and I knew what that meant. He was almost there. It was so good to know that without a doubt. I fucked faster and sweat rolled down to sting my eyes.

Then, it happened.

His head snapped back and cum sprayed from his cock, splashing my chest. Watching him unload ruined me. I shoved in deep and latched on to his tit while my cockhead throbbed. Pleasure sliced through my stomach, followed by a tornado of heat. My balls emptied. I convulsed while the potent bliss stripped me to my most basic instincts. I held him, inhaling his masculine scent and sweat and the bitter smell of sex. It was fucking delicious in every way possible.

When the crest finally rolled back and I was left standing there with loose muscles, I eased out of Tav, then allowed him to lower his feet to the floor. I tugged him away from the wall and snorted. We’d fucked up the drywall and there was a weird shape just about the size of his wide shoulders dented in it.

He stared at me for a long moment and hope swelled in me. Maybe this was it. He would apologize and tell me what had happened all those years ago. I’d always wondered. The questions had poisoned every relationship I’d considered starting since. If Tav didn’t want me after this, I still had to know why he’d disappeared out of my life but had never moved away. Part of me had hoped he’d simply gone back to Scotland for some reason. We’d always been good together. We’d worked in ways I’d never found with anyone since.

I grasped his wrist, and the bracelet I’d made for him dug into my skin.

“Did you just cheat on someone?” he asked.

Shock made me feel even more stupid than my postorgasm high. “Huh? No. Why would you ask that!” I squeezed his wrist harder as my heart pounded.

He glanced around. “This house is large for one.”

Apparently, I’d fucked away whatever filter had been holding this line of questioning in earlier. “I’m not the type of person to cheat. Are you? Is that what happened?”

“What?” Tav frowned, but I could tell he knew exactly what I was talking about. “When?”

“You know when,” I muttered through clenched teeth.

He rested his hand over mine and his bottom lip jutted. I would’ve fucking hated seeing this expression on the face of another man, but from him, it made my heart feel like it was turning inside out. “I’m no cheater.”

“Then what the hell happened, Tavish?”

Tav’s gaze fell to the floor, and I stared, waiting. I let the silence stretch out until it was awkward. Fury tore through me when it became clear that if we stood here until the end of fucking time, he still wasn’t planning to open his mouth to talk to me. The bracelet cut into my palm sharply enough that it drew my attention, and I peeled it off his wrist. He gasped and tried to snatch it back, but I shoved him against the damaged wall, using all my weight.

“You can’t do that!” Tav shouted.

“Why do you wear this? Why do you give a shit?” I waved the bracelet around. “I gave it to you, and now I’m taking it back.” I glared and slipped it onto my wrist.

Tav’s face crumpled and he shoved past me, going over to his wrinkled clothing. He tugged his underwear on, then shoved his legs into his pants so hard I was worried he would rip something. His face was red as he pulled his shirt down over his head. It was impossible to ignore that his jaw was so hard it would require a crowbar to open his mouth. He wasn’t planning on telling me shit.

“I deserve to know what happened,” I snapped.

He ignored me and put his shoes on, then stomped downstairs. I followed him naked to the front door, and he stormed directly outside. There weren’t any close neighbors for me to worry about, and even if there had been, I wasn’t ashamed of my body.

“Seven thirty tomorrow!” I called after him, and his steps stumbled. “Be here or else!”

Tav slammed his truck door and the ancient engine roared to life seconds before it took off backward along my driveway. I glared down at the bracelet on my wrist. I just didn’t fucking get it. Why leave, then save a piece of junk jewelry? At the time, this was supposed to be a placeholder until I could get him something nicer. Something that would last. How many times had he rethreaded this old bracelet with elastic? I held it up to look at the shells. Some of them were battered and chipped, but they still gleamed in the afternoon sunshine.

This bracelet was supposed to be temporary.

But instead, I’d been temporary.

Growling, I slammed the front door, and when that didn’t take the edge off my rage, I punched a hole in the drywall next to it. Sighing, I shook out my aching hand and looked at the damage. Fuck my life, why did I think any of this was a good idea?

Glancing down at my satisfied dick, I snorted. Well, that had been more fun than anything since Tav. Yeah, I was going to keep doing this, stupid or not.
