I don’t want to let her go. I’m kind of jealous, and I’m not familiar with this feeling. The only thing I can think of doing is cupping her face and kissing the ever-loving hell out of her, so I do. The hollers from my boys echo through the room which makes her laugh while I ignore them, knowing as soon as she leaves, they are going to rib me.

“What was that for?” she asks.

“Just a reminder of what is waiting at home for you,” I tell her.

Natalia raises a brow at me. “You jealous?”

“Yes,” I answer honestly, which surprises her.

“Don’t worry, I know what’s waiting for me,” she says, kissing me again. “See ya, boys, have fun,” she calls out to them before leaving.

“You’re so fucking pussy-whipped,” Nico says, bursting out laughing.

“Do you blame him? Did you see her?” Val adds.

“Seriously, we’re here to play poker not gossip like a group of Nonas,” Rocco states, showing his irritation over the conversation.

“Shut up, Rocco. This is more serious than poker,” Val says before turning around and looking at me. “Does she have hot friends?” my cousin asks. I shrug, I haven’t met any of her friends other than Dom. “Seriously, you have one job,” Val says, throwing his hands up in the air in frustration.

“Can we get back to poker, please? I don’t want to think about my wife out on a girls’ night dressed like that,” I confess to them.

Nico bursts out laughing, Val huffs, and Rocco rolls his eyes in annoyance at me.

An hour later, my phone beeps and I look down at it.

Elek Papps: I’m in town next week. I just heard about your wedding to Natalia Fiorenzo. We need to catch up to celebrate.

Alessandro: Sounds great. Let me know when you’re free.

Elek Papps: Will do and bring your wife, too.

“Never going to guess who that was?” I tell the boys.

“Who?” Nico questions.

“Elek Papps, owner of The Emerald Hotel Group. He’s in town next week and wants to catch up with me, he heard about the wedding.”

“You think that’s a good thing?” Val asks.

I shrug. “Sure as hell hope so.”

“Guessing your marriage might be over soon, then, sounds like he might be ready to make his choice,” Rocco states.

“Dude, that’s harsh,” Nico says, chastising his brother.

“What? It’s the truth, though,” Rocco says, defending himself.

“Not the time,” Nico states, but his brother shrugs and throws back his drink.

“Hope he’s made his decision so we can get this sale behind us,” I say, but a sense of dread settles over me. “Then my father can get off my back and I can prove that I’m not some incompetent fool like he thinks I am.”

“What happens if he goes with the Fiorenzos?” Val asks.

“Then I guess I’m moving in with Rome in New York because there is no way in hell my father is going to ever want me working with him ever again.”

Val frowns. “And where does that leave Natalia?”

“She gets to go back to her life,” I say, throwing back the rest of my tequila.
