The fire ignited in my soul proves how I feel about him. The warmth that spreads through me and tugs at my heartstrings is worth everything I left behind.

I haven’t told him how I feel. Yet. It doesn’t seem to matter now that he’s confessed how he feels about me. As he lovingly pulls me closer to his bed, he snuggles in at my neck and lazily peppers my skin with kisses.

Giggling, I wriggle in a playful attempt to get free. As expected, Aragon only tightens his arms around me, the heat of his body enveloping me while he lovingly strokes and caresses my bare flesh.

“Aragon…” I protest with a pout, reluctant to lose the impeccable strength and intoxication of his arms yet knowing that he has to leave. “... Your meeting…”

“My brothers can wait..” he drawls with a raspy groan as he snatches my earlobe between his teeth.

“They can’t!” I whine, finally wringing free and immediately climbing out of bed. Aragon grabs my wrist and pulls me back to the bed toiling with me above the sheets.

When he climbs over me to keep me pinned down, arms on either side of my head, my heart begins to race. The intensity of his penetrating gaze has me fixated, aware of the growing need between his thighs that causes a blush on my cheeks.

He’s insatiable.

He groans and plants his forehead with mine, eyes closed as he listens intently to the voice inside his mind. When he lifts his head and opens his eyes, gone is the dark tinge of desire, replaced with burning hues of gold.

“Draco’s calling,” he says when he rolls over to the side and his eyes become normal.

“I told you that you needed to go,” I giggle as I climb out of bed. Aragon follows, playfully slapping my butt on his way to the bathroom.

I never thought it possible to be so unashamedly naked in front of him in times outside of our heated encounters. It’s become somewhat of a norm, allowing me to fully embrace my curves and my voluptuous breasts that I usually kept hidden behind overgrown sweaters and baggy pants.

Following him into the bathroom, I pick my toothbrush out from the holder and sigh when large hands cup my breasts with a gentle squeeze. My lips tug into a soft smile as the heat of Aragon’s breath fans my nape.

“I hate leaving you like this…” he whispers. “... But I’ll see you later.”

Even though he hasn’t left yet, the distinct longing in my heart is made clear with an inner tug. Tilting my face, I appreciate how great we look together through the lens of the bathroom mirror.

Aragon always hates having to leave. Even if it’s just a Tuesday in the Aurora Island castle. It’s been only a week since the kidnapping ordeal, but every day is terrible when he has to leave.

I know it’s only because of what happened that he’s being dragged out of the bedroom. I decided to change the subject, hoping I wouldn’t be so sad that I wouldn’t see him for the rest of the day.

“What has Draco decided to do with them?” I ask about the dragon shifters who captured me while Aragon proceeds to the shower.

“We finally got answers out of them,” he reveals with a grunt. “It turns out Skarlett put them up to it.”

“Skarlett?” I exclaim, turning around just as he turns on the faucet. “As in the dragon who almost killed Lily?”

I stare wide-eyed at Aragon as he explains what they gathered. I know about the incident with Lily, and it is a surprise that the treacherous dragon shifter was able to put Belinda’s group up to my abduction.

“What happens now?”

“We’re having them sent into exile to a remote island off the south coast of New Zealand,” he explains. “Draco doesn’t want them here, and it’d be better if they were dead.”

The statement sends a chill down my spine. I gulp when I imagine the dragon clan being so ruthless that they’d kill one of their own, imagining the dragon bones buried in the same place I found their grandfather’s fossils.

Aragon seems to notice as he shuts off the faucet and peeks out from the shower stall.

“Hey, I know what you’re thinking,” he offers gently. “But the lady dragon won’t allow them to be killed.”

“Neither will I,” I declare, to which Aragon steps out of the shower with a chuckle.

“You know…” he chuckles. “... For someone who studies the bones of the dead, you really do surprise me.”

I roll my eyes playfully when he hugs me with his wet frame. “I’m full of surprises.”

“So am I,” he whispers in my ear. “That reminds me…” He steps back, clutching my shoulders. “I have a surprise for you.”
