Vic’s mouth crashed into her own as the kiss that had been building for so long overtook them. Julia could feel the hunger of Vic’s desire in her kiss as her own mouth opened and Vic’s tongue pushed inside. Vic’s tongue explored her mouth and her own tongue came alive in response.

Oh god, I want this so much.

The kiss overtook them and Julia felt the pressure on her wrists release as Vic’s hands were in her hair suddenly, holding her face as she kissed her. She felt her own hands snaking around Vic’s back and resting on her ass. The ass that Julia had felt herself watching all day.

Julia felt Vic’s hands moving down, on her breasts now, pulling at her shirt. Vic’s hands were under her shirt, trying to undress her.

She’s had a lot to drink. I’m the responsible one here. What am I doing?

Vic’s hand reached around and began undoing the zip at the back of her skirt.

Julia felt her own wetness pooling between her legs.

I need to stop this.

Julia pulled away and took a deep breath of air that wasn’t Vic.

Pull yourself together.

“Victoria, I’m sorry, I can’t.”

Vic looked at her with hurt in her eyes. “Why not?” she asked.

“You’ve had a lot to drink. I can’t take advantage of you while you are drunk. It isn’t right. It’s complicated and messy anyway if anything happens between us. You know it is. There’s my job, my loyalty to the Queen, your friendship with the Queen. And you are, well, pretty drunk. I don’t want you to regret anything in the morning.”

“I could never regret anything with you.” Vic looked directly at her.

God, I want her so badly. Why am I stopping this?!!!

Julia didn’t move or respond and Vic nodded as though resigned to the fact. “I’m not sorry though,” Vic said. “I’m not sorry for kissing you. It was the best kiss of my entire life.” She smiled and held out her hand and Julia blushed and took it.

“Shall we go back inside?” Vic asked and Julia nodded.

She felt uncomfortably wet between her legs.

“Ugh, I feel like literal fucking death this morning. Why are hangovers so much worse now that I’m old?” Vic nursed a mug of coffee and took sips as though it would heal her.

“I am so fucking grateful you guys have nannies to save us from having to parent our own children too much today.”

Erin laughed. “I feel a bit rough, but I definitely didn’t drink as much as you. Did I see you and Swoolia in the gardens holding hands late on?”

Vic raised her eyes and suddenly felt alert. “Okay, so you need to 100 percent promise not to tell Queen Alexandra, aka Princess, aka, your fucking wife, okay?”

“Tell her what?”

“Fucking promise, Bodyguard, make the fucking promise on Princess Matilda’s tiny life that you 100 percent promise not to tell Alex what I am about to tell you.”

“Okay, okay, I promise.”

“On Matilda’s life?”

“I promise on Matilda’s life that I won’t tell Alex anything you tell me right now.”

“Okay, good.” Vic took a deep breath. “I kissed Swoolia last night.”

Erin’s eyes widened. “Oh my god, you didn’t?!”
