“Yes, of course. Who wouldn’t want their wedding reception here?”

“Then your wish is my command, darling. We will celebrate our wedding here with all our friends on Saturday, September 7th.”

“Excuse me?” I nervously laughed. “That’s in less than two months.”

“I know, but don’t you worry. I’ve hired the best event planner in New York, and he’s taking care of everything, with our input, of course.”

“What about the wedding ceremony?” I asked.

“I’ve already booked that. We’re getting married on the Tribeca Rooftop. Surprise!” He grinned. “You said you love surprises, so you can’t be mad.”

“How can I be mad at you? You over-organized planning, little freak.” I smirk.

“I’m not sure if that was a compliment or not.” His eyes narrowed.

“And you never will,” I whispered in his ear.

“You look incredible.” Tears filled Jordyn’s eyes.

“Thanks, friend.” I hugged her.

“No, no, no!” Ralph ran over to us. “No smearing the makeup. So, all the girls will walk down the aisle first, and then you, my perfect little pregnant bride, will make your grand entrance on the rooftop.”

“Okay.” I smiled, for I had a different plan.

Jordyn handed me my bouquet, and we headed to the rooftop. It was a beautiful, warm September day without a cloud in the sky.

The music started to play, and the girls made their entrance. Ralph looked me over to ensure I looked perfect.

“I’ll be right back,” I said as I walked away.

“Excuse me? What are you doing, Stella?” he shouted. “Your future husband is waiting for you!”

I opened the side door and saw Miles standing there with Levi. He looked so handsome in his black tuxedo, his hands folded in front of him. He hated surprises, but this was one I couldn’t help but give him. I quietly stepped through the door, walked over, and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around, and when he saw me, he placed his hand over his mouth as tears filled his eyes.

“Surprise.” I smiled as a tear fell down my cheek.

He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into an embrace.

“This is not how we rehearsed it!” I heard Ralph whisper from behind.

“My God. You look so beautiful, sweetheart.” He broke our embrace, and I reached up and wiped the tears that fell from his eyes.

“I love you.” I smiled brightly.

“I love you more.” He pulled me into him one last time before the minister stepped in and asked if we were ready to be married.

After our beautiful ceremony and many pictures later, Miles and I took a carriage ride through Central Park.

“I can’t believe you did that. Did you see the look on Ralph’s face?” Miles laughed.

“No, but I’m sure it was priceless.” I grinned. “Oh!” I placed my hand on my belly. “Your son wants to join in on the excitement.”

Miles placed his hand on my belly and held it there, feeling the little kicks from our baby.

“I can’t wait to meet him, Stella.”
