“Thank you, baby girl. We’ll pack up when we leave here and bring everythin’ to the house. You and Lyric can go through things there so we’re not spendin’ a ton of time at the trailer,” I tell her, not sure how long we’ll be at the clubhouse before heading home.

“Well, Tara, Lyric, and I were gonna go out to lunch. I know we need someone with us, but we just want to go to the diner and grab something to eat without being in the clubhouse,” Paige says as we start to leave the room.

“Okay. Dad’s here with Rage. If Kevlar and I go too, that’s four guys on the three of you. We can bring some Prospects with us too. Let them know to be ready in ten and we’ll head out,” I tell her, giving her a kiss and another smack to her ass.

Paige tries to glare at me over her shoulder, but it doesn’t work. She just looks sexy as fuck and I want to drag her back into our room to fuck that sass out of her. I’ve been more open with Paige and not holding back. That includes smacking her ass when she walks by me. She fucking loves it too. Her glare means nothing because later on she’ll be begging me to smack her ass.

Chapter Twenty-Six

Paige

TODAY IS BRINGING about all sorts of changes in my life. I’m moving into the house on the compound with Chance. I wasn’t about to fucking fight him because I know it’s a matter of safety and there’s no real reason why we’ve been hanging onto the trailer at all. It’s just where Lyric and I lived and grew up. I’m not going to stay there because it’s the only place we’ve ever lived. I wasn’t lying when I said any memories we wanted to keep with us would be in our hearts. Lyric and I won’t ever forget what happened in the trailer and we don’t need to live there to remember the good and bad times. All we need is to think of a time we want to remember and it'll be there.

Plus, I did make the call and my eggs are still good. It doesn’t mean an implant will work, but it’s good news. I’m ready to be a mom and I know Chance is ready to be a dad too. We’ve been dancing around one another for over a year now and it’s time to move forward. Life is too damn short to hold off on what you really want and to make your dreams a reality. So, I’m not going to hesitate to move forward with this if it’s truly what Chance wants. He’s the one who brought it up so that’s telling me he’s ready to be a dad. And I know he’s gonna be a great dad. He's had an amazing role model. Several of them if I’m being honest.

Walking out to the common room, I head straight for the table where my sister and Tara are sitting. I might not be as close to Tara as Lyric is because they work together, but it doesn’t mean that I won’t let her in. I’m learning to let others in and not hold myself back because I’m scared they’ll judge me or something stupid. What happened to me is because of an accident and not something I did. It’s part of my life and the only thing I can do is move forward.

“We can go to lunch. Ricochet said to be ready in ten minutes. He’s gonna grab some guys to go with us. I’m sure they won’t sit with us, but we can’t go out alone,” I tell the girls as I stand next to the table.

“Great. I’m starving,” my sister announces as we both laugh at her.

‘You’re always starving these days, baby sister,” I tell her, making her pout as Kevlar walks up to stand next to her.

“What’s got you poutin’, princess?” he asks his wife, bending down and resting a hand on her stomach while kissing her.

“They’re saying I’m always starving,” she says, her pout getting even bigger as she looks up at her man with eyes full of love.

“Well, I mean they aren’t wrong, princess. But, you’re eating for four now and not just yourself. Gotta feed our boys so they’re big and healthy when they’re born,” he replies, laughter filling his voice.

“I hope we have nothing but girls, Shawn. Karma for you being such an asshole and agreeing with them,” she says, losing her pout and glaring up at him. “Now, I’m ready to get some lunch. Can you please help me out of the chair?”

Yeah, my sister has reached the stage of her pregnancy where she needs help out of chairs and she waddles more than walks. None of us say a damn word to her about it either. She’d start crying and I hate to see my baby sister cry. She’s so emotional now and everything either pisses her off or makes her cry. We’re all walking a fine line with her most days. However, she’s so happy to be pregnant and I can’t wait to share my own news with her. I’m excited to move things forward and ready to share the news with the one person who knows everything about me. Lyric has always known my deepest, darkest secrets and it’s not going to change now. Not when I’ve been letting her back in and I don’t want to go back to how strained our relationship was before.

“Baby girl, you’re in the SUV with the girls. I don’t want you on the back of the bike when there’s a group of us. It puts too much of a target on your back if Lucifer is still in town and lookin’ for a chance to get you. Once we leave the diner, you can get on the bike again so we can go home and pack,” Ricochet tells me as he wraps his arms around me from behind and I lean back into his body.

“Let’s head out,” Hawkeye says, walking up to us with Tank, Rage, and two Prospects at his side. “We’ll be close in the diner, but you girls can have your space to talk or whatever. If you see somethin’, alert us the best you can and we’ll take care of it.”

We all nod in response to Hawkeye and head out of the clubhouse. There’s already an SUV parked close to the door and we get inside with the two Prospects. The rest of the guys head to their bikes and I watch as Ricochet gets on his. He always looks sexy to me, but never more than when he’s on his bike. It’s a huge machine and painted all black. The only other color is the chrome accents he has on it. Even the wheels are completely black. I love seeing him on his bike and he knows it.

“You’ve got it bad,” Tara says, laughter filling her voice as I turn to look at her.

Tara’s eyes aren’t on me. She’s staring at Hawkeye where he sits on his bike. He’s putting his gloves on his hands and looking straight at the SUV. I’m not sure if he can even see Tara through the windshield, but he’s sure as fuck trying.

“It seems I’m not the only one who’s got it bad,” I respond as Tara whips her head in my direction with shock on her face. “You two are constantly staring at one another when you think no one else is looking and that you won’t be caught by the other one. It’s kind of funny because we’ve all been there. So, how are things with you and Hawkeye?”

“He’s such a jackass. We’re having sex regularly, but that’s all it seems to be. He doesn’t talk to me and barely stays long enough to get dressed once we have sex. I want him and I like him, but I deserve more than to be someone’s dirty little fucking secret. I’d have already cut his ass off, but the sex is off the fucking charts. He’s ruined me for all other men,” Tara says, dropping her head in her hands as her entire face and neck turns as red as a fire engine.

Lyric and I burst out laughing. It’s so fucking funny. I get what she means about the sex though. The best sex I’ve ever had is with Chance. He can read me and knows exactly what I want without me having to tell him. He makes sure I get off more than once before he even thinks about finding his own release. The man is fucking great in bed and I can’t wait to have him again. Though, that’s how I always feel. If we could stay in bed all day long, I’d be more than happy with that.

The trip to the diner is short. If there’s anything good about Cedar Bay I can say, it’s that it doesn’t take long to get anywhere in town. It’s so small that you can make it to your destination in a matter of minutes. That’s about the only good thing I can say about Cedar Bay though. And that’s just my opinion. I don’t like having everyone in my business and never knowing who I can truly trust because everyone just wants a piece of gossip.

When the Prospects pull into the parking lot, they park as close to the door as possible. It’s almost like Haley’s made sure no one parks there. Every time I come here, the spot is always empty though there’s no sign reserving it or anything. I guess it’s just one more perk of belonging to the Wild Kings. Though, the guys always park their bikes off to the side of the building. We wait until they get off their bikes and make their way over to us before even attempting to get out of the SUV. We’ve all been told to say where we are until the guys are at our side. It’s another safety thing and none of us have any problems waiting a minute for the guys.

Hawkeye opens the door where Tara’s sitting while Kevlar opens my sister’s door. Yeah, I got stuck sitting in the middle somehow. I don’t mind though. Ricochet steps up to the door after Kevlar gets my sister out and moves her away. Taking his hand, he helps me out and pulls me straight into his hard body. After kissing me, he grabs my hand and links our fingers together. Making our way in the diner, he leads me to the table where Tara and my sister are already sitting. Taking my seat next to Lyric and across from Tara, I watch on as he goes over to sit with the guys. They’re at a table in the back corner and we’re a few up from them on the same side so they can easily get to us if something happens.

“So, what did Ricochet mean when he talked about packing? Are you guys going on a trip or something?” my sister asks me once we give the waitress our orders.

“No. We’re moving into the house at the compound. We’re all alone at the trailer and I know there’s no reason for us to be there on our own. Unless you think we shouldn’t get rid of it yet,” I answer Lyric as I turn to face her better.
