“I just wanted to come in and make sure you’re okay. It’s been a while since I got to spend any time with you,” she says, giving me a soft smile as we continue to work.

“I’m okay. I’ve talked to my sister and Kevlar and obviously I’ve talked to Ricochet. For the first time in a long time I feel free and at peace. I can live for myself and not worry about everything I’ve had to do from a young age,” I answer her, my voice almost a whisper as the Prospects come in and out of the kitchen.

“That’s good to hear, Paige. You know, I want to make sure you understand that Tank won’t tell a soul what the two of you talked about. He’ll take that shit to his grave. It’s how he is with everyone. He hasn’t told me anything. So, if you ever want, or need, to talk about anything, I’m here. I might not have all the right words or been in your shoes before, but I can listen and offer advice if that’s what you need,” she tells me, keeping her own voice as low as my own.

“I didn’t doubt for a second that Tank would tell everyone what I told him. I mean, I didn’t tell him he had to keep it to himself, but I’m glad to know he kept everything a secret. I wasn’t ready to share my past with anyone yet. It’s still hard for me to be open and share with others, but I’m a work in progress. I’ve kept my promise to Tank and I’m getting the help I need. I see my counselor every day. She’s told me we’ll be eliminating the daily sessions and meeting maybe three times a week soon. I’m not sure if I’m ready for that, but she seems to think I am. So, I’m trying to prepare myself for that to happen.

“Ricochet knows now what’s going on. When we were younger, Lyric and I were in an accident with our dad. He didn’t make it out alive and I was left unable to ever have kids. At least in the traditional way. So, I’ve been jealous of my baby sister. It only got harder when they announced they were having triplets. I just couldn't get out of my head long enough to realize I could be happy for my sister even if it hurt me to see her so completely happy and living the life I wanted to have,” I tell Maddie as she looks on with pain in her eyes.

“I’m so sorry, Paige. You do know there are so many ways to have kids though, right?” she asks me, stepping up closer to me as the Prospects come in once again.

“I do now. I mean, we can even try to use a surrogate because they did freeze some of my eggs. I’m not sure how many or anything, but there’s the option to go that route if that’s what Ricochet and I decide to do. We’ve kind of talked about it, but not in any detail. No plans have been made. I don’t really want to wait, but I’m not going to rush him either,” I tell Maddie as I put the last few plates in the dishwasher and close the door after adding the soap.

“Do you think Ricochet wants to wait to have a family? I’ll tell you something now about my boys. Kevlar and Ricochet are the two who have always wanted to have a family of their own. They’d stay up late at night when they were old enough to understand what they were saying and talk about it. Hawkeye is the hold out. He’s never said he wants kids or an ol’ lady. But, he’s stubborn as hell and doesn’t trust anyone. I’m not even sure why he has the trust issues like he does. He’s never really been hurt or anything like that. At the end of the day, the woman Hawkeye falls for is going to make him work for it and give him a run for his money. She’s not going to take his shit or let him get away with anything. At least I hope that’s what happens,” Maddie informs me as I imagine Kevlar and Ricochet talking in their beds at night about the families they want to have when they get older. It’s adorable.

“How’d I know I’d find my two favorite girls together?” Ricochet asks, walking up to us and putting an arm around his mom and me.

“Are you psychic or something now, son?” Maddie says, teasing her son.

“Not at all. Been waitin’ for the two of you to come back out and when you didn’t, I figured I’d come find out what you’re both doin’,” he returns, his voice full of playful banter as I look up to find his eyes twinkling with mischief. This is a side not many people get to see of Ricochet. One I’ve missed.

“Did you need something, Chance?” I ask him, not sure why he was looking for us to begin with.

“Nope. Well, yes, but I’m not about to say it right now,” he says, wiggling his eyebrows at me.

“That’s my cue to leave. I love you, son. Paige, we’ll talk more tomorrow,” Maddie says, walking out of the kitchen back into the backyard.

“Now, do you wanna know what I want?” Chance asks me, pulling me against his body and holding me close.

“Yes,” I breathe out, my voice more of a whisper than anything else.

“I want to fuck my ol’ lady in my bed for the first time. You haven’t been to the house and it’s time for that shit to change. Eventually I want us to live there, Paige. I don’t want to stay at the trailer. There’s nothin’ wrong with it, but it’s not big enough when we’re ready to have kids,” he says, making my body heat up with the thought of fucking him.

“Then what are we still doing here?” I return, a smirk on my face as I jump up and wrap my arms and legs around his muscular body.

“We’re leavin’ right now, baby girl. I’m gonna fuck you wearin’ nothin’ but this rag tonight. Every fuckin’ time. The first time is gonna be hard and fast before I spend hours worshipin’ your body,” he promises me as he turns and carries me out of the kitchen.

Chance walks through the common room and out the front door to his bike. When we get to his bike, he straddles it and keeps me in front of him. I’ve never ridden like this before. Chance rides slowly around the clubhouse and toward the house he shares with his brothers. He parks out front and shuts his bike off. I don’t pay attention to anything as he gets off the bike and doesn’t put me down or let go of me at all. He walks up the front steps and into the house while leaning forward to kiss me. Our kiss is deep and full of love and passion. Of all the desire we feel for one another. Chance makes good on his word and spends hours upon hours worshiping my body. He gives it to me hard and fast and then soft and slow. We only break long enough to take a nap or get something to eat. Today has been the best day of my life and I can’t wait to have many more exactly like this.

Chapter Twenty-Five

Ricochet

PAIGE HAS BEEN my ol’ lady for two weeks now. We’ve taken a few days to just chill and not do much of anything. She goes to work and then we head straight back home to relax in front of the TV and only get up to make something to eat before going to bed. She’s gone out to lunch a few times with her sister in the last two weeks and that’s been great. Kevlar and I always join them because we want to make sure no one gets close to them. The last time Lyric and Paige went out together, they were kidnapped from the fucking street and held by Lucifer and their mother. We’re not about to let that shit happen again. Especially because it seems as if it’s been too quiet from those douche canoes since everything happened.

Lucifer hid and then ran like the bitch he is. I’m sure their mother was hanging on tight to him so she wasn’t caught with everyone else. The two of them are gonna get caught, it’s just a matter of time. I haven’t been out looking recently, but that’s only because I’ve been with my girl. Her being protected is more important than anything else. Kevlar feels the same way. That’s why the women and kids are to be staying at the compound as much as possible. If they have to go out, then we make sure they have multiple men on them. There’s more than enough guys here to make it happen. We’ve still got our families in town and so they’ve been stepping up to help us make sure everyone is safe and gets where they need to go on a daily basis.

“Chance, don’t you have to leave soon?” Paige asks me, her voice startling me out of my own head.

“Yeah. We got church soon. I want you to come to the clubhouse with me. I’m not leavin’ you here on your own,” I tell her, pulling her down on my lap where I sit on the couch.

“Okay. I’ll go see Lyric. I think she said Tara was gonna be hanging out with her today because they have some things to go over for the shop. I don’t want to interrupt them, but if they’re in the clubhouse, I’ll just hang out with them,” she tells me, leaning in to press a soft kiss against my lips.

I don’t let her pull back with such a chaste kiss. Wrapping a hand around her head, I hold her close and slide my tongue along her bottom lip before gently biting down on it. Paige immediately opens her mouth for me and I deepen the kiss. My girl wraps her arms around my neck and crushes her body against mine. I pull away before we get too carried away.

Pulling back, Paige gets off my lap and works on braiding her hair. She knows we’ll be on the bike today and has learned her lesson about leaving it loose. It gets too tangled up for her. So, she tries to braid it if she knows we’ll be on the bike. The only time I don’t take the bike with her is when it’s going to rain out. I’m not about to get caught out in a storm with my ol’ lady on the bike. It’s too dangerous when I’m riding alone to be out on wet roads. Add in my girl and that’s a risk I’m not willing to take. So, today we’ll be taking the bike because it’s not supposed to rain at all. There’s nothing but sunshine and it’s already hot as fuck outside.

As soon as Paige has her hair braided and her phone with her, we head out. I get on my bike while she puts the helmet on. Before letting her climb on behind me, I check the straps for her to make sure it’s tight enough and isn’t gonna fucking come flying off or something stupid. It would be just my luck that something like that happens because I wasn’t paying attention to her and didn’t take every precaution I could while she’s riding with me.
