“You’re safe, Olivia.” I want to pull her body to mine and devour her with a kiss to prove it to her. Being this close to her is driving me crazy. Her scent alone is like a drug, and it’s fucking torture having to restrain my physical reaction to her.

“That’s not the point,” she says.

“Olivia, please don’t look at it like that. You’re with Chloe and me. You know we’d never do anything to hurt you,” Nick says, looking at her in the rearview mirror. “I promise you, everything is going to be okay.”

“I don’t know what makes you think I’d trust you at this point,” Olivia says as Chloe wipes away tears in the front seat. “Chloe, come on. Say something.” Olivia demands.

Chloe shakes her head with a sigh. “I never wanted it to happen like this. I’m sorry. You know I love you.”

I turn my body toward her and drape my arm across the back of the seat. “So, Olivia, tell me about yourself.”

She shakes her head with a dry laugh. “You’re kidding, right? I don’t think so.”

I grin in response. “Why not?”

“First of all, because you just kidnapped me. Second, because I don’t want to get to know you.”

I smirk with a dry laugh at that smart mouth of hers. “Is that so?”

She raises her eyebrows and nods her head. “Yes, that’s so.”

“We’ll see.” I run the back of my fingers down the side of her arm, sending a rush of goosebumps racing down her arm as she gasps. The sexual tension is like a storm cloud hanging over us in the backseat, ready to burst at any moment. I can’t wait to officially make her mine.

We finally turn off the highway and travel down a private road. We then make two more turns before arriving at an elegant iron gate with a guardhouse. My stomach sinks when I see the two men in the guardhouse casually holding rifles as they wave our vehicle through. I turn in my seat to study the guards as we pass.

“Just a precaution for safety. Don’t worry,” Ethan says. “Nick, head to the pack house, please.” Nick nods and proceeds forward.

“Wait…pack house? We just came from The Pack House. You’re taking us to another bar?”

Ethan turns to me with a gentle smile. “Different kind of pack house. You’ll see.”

We pull into a large circular driveway in front of what looks like a gorgeous hotel resort with a rustic, but elegant, log cabin vibe. Definitely not the same kind of pack house.

“What is this place?”

“This is our community building, but I have a house not far from here,” Ethan says. “So do Chloe and Nick.” I knew Chloe just moved into a house with Nick, but I didn’t know anything about my best friend living in a neighborhood with armed guards.

Drawing to a stop, Ethan exits the backseat and extends his hand to me. His steel blue eyes penetrate the wall I’ve built, and I feel held captive by their allure.

“May I help you?” he asks, reaching for my hand.

“I don’t need your help to get out of a vehicle.” I push past him, but he still takes my elbow as I climb out, and I’m overcome by a tingling warmth. I gasp slightly, and the corner of his mouth raises in a grin.

“Pull it together, Olivia,” I whisper to myself. I have a fiancé. I’m not going to do anything stupid like last night. I snatch my arm away from him and walk inside.

Once inside the beautiful building, Ethan leads the way into an office. Chloe and I sit in two chairs in front of a large desk in the center of the room while Nick stands off to the side. Ethan leans against the front of the desk, commanding my attention with his eyes.

“Olivia, allow me to introduce myself properly.”

Oh God, his voice sounds like velvet.

“I’m Ethan Sullivan. I’m the Alpha of the Pinewood Pack. I know you don’t understand what that means, but it’s about to become very important to you. I’ll be happy to explain everything and clear up any questions you may have.”

I laugh with a little snort. “I’m sorry, slow down a minute for me. First of all, you call this place the pack house?”
