“Your parents are going to show up with dinner soon. I’d like to go take a shower before they get here.”

“Do you need my help?” He pulls me into his chest.

“I would love your help, but I think we both know we wouldn’t end up following the doctor’s advice.” It kills me to say that because my entire body is screaming with desire for him, and my lady parts are leading the charge.

“You’re right. Go shower. As promised, I moved your things into our bathroom, and all your clothes are in our closet now. You go first and I’ll shower after you’re done.”

I give him a kiss and go upstairs, looking forward to feeling fresh and clean. The warm water feels amazing as it washes over me, relaxing me from head to toe. I leave my hair in natural waves, curling just the ends to make it looks a little more finished. I keep things casual, but cute with a t-shirt dress and sandals.

“You look beautiful,” Ethan says, coming into the bathroom.

“Thank you. I feel much better now. I feel human again…wait,” I pause, and we both laugh. “I guess I can’t say that anymore.”

He laughs and shakes his head. “No, you certainly can’t.” He then takes his shirt off, and stares into my eyes. His defined arms and abs are beckoning me to explore him.

I raise an eyebrow at him. “You’re teasing me, aren’t you?”

“I would never do such a thing,” he says with an enticing grin.

I shake my head and laugh, walking toward the door to leave. “You’re in big trouble.”

“You can punish me as much as you want tonight.”

Olivia

Ethan’s parents arrive and we both help them carry in the several dishes Caroline had the pack house prepare for us. The aroma of Mexican food fills the room, enticing all of my senses.

“Caroline, you didn’t need to go to all this trouble,” I say, overwhelmed by everything she brought, but excited to try all of it.

“Unfortunately, I can’t take credit for this. This is all the pack house chef’s work.” Caroline gives me the most genuine smile I’ve ever seen from her. “Olivia, I believe I owe you an apology. I know I haven’t given you the warmest welcome. I was very concerned about the events that took place during the beginning of your relationship with my son. I was afraid you might be unable to handle this life, and you would leave him broken and alone. I see now, I underestimated your strength, and you have more than proven your commitment to Ethan. I’m sorry. I’m hoping we can start fresh from here.”

Wow. I was not expecting this.

“Of course, Caroline. I understand where your reservations were coming from. I would love a fresh start. Thank you.”

Caroline gives me a hug. “We’re glad to see you doing so well, Olivia.”

“Thank you, Mom,” Ethan says, pulling me close to him and kissing my forehead. I wonder if he made her do this. I didn’t think he even noticed how she was treating me.

“I’m very impressed with you, Olivia. You are going to be a wonderful Luna,” Edwin says, hugging me and kissing me on the cheek.

“Thank you. That means a lot to me. I hope to make you all proud in my new position next to Ethan.”

Edwin smiles with pride. “We have no doubt you will.”

“How are you doing, honey?” Caroline goes to Ethan, always concerned with her son.

“I’m good now that Olivia has recovered and is by my side again.” He wraps his arm around my waist.

“Good,” Caroline says with a warm smile. “Now, let’s get this food uncovered and have dinner before things get cold.” The pack house has prepared an entire Mexican spread and a pitcher of margaritas.

“So, where is Vanessa tonight?” I ask. I’m a little surprised she isn’t here to join us.

“She has a date tonight,” Caroline says, raising her eyebrows while Ethan rolls his eyes at the thought.

Edwin shakes his head. “I’m not sure I care for him. He’s not her mate, so it seems pointless to me.”
