Caleb snorted. “Well, almostas good as sex.”

“Good,” said Noah, smiling at his brothers. “Too bad I missed the sight but you guys did an awesome job.”

“Daddy Beckett didn’t like it when I refused,” I said. “He instigated that I was fucking Brian and that’s the whole reason he let me take over Amhurst Co.”

“That’s what they’ve been imagining,” said Noah in a grim tone. “Do you remember the day Luke came into your office and a fight broke out between us?”

“Yeah?” I said, remembering the fiasco between the two.

“Luke was the one who made me think something was going on between you and Dad,” said Noah. “He made it sound so obvious. I stepped into his trap and...look at us now. We don’t even know whoourfucking father is.”

“Luke’s always been a slimeball,” said Corey. “He never fights fair. He’d rather use our weaknesses against us than take us head-on.”

“Then, we’ll have to make sure we don’t look weak,” I said. “He tried using the sex clip from five years ago against me tonight. I can’t believe he’s kept it all these years.”

“We understand why you did what you did back then,” said Corey in a grim tone. “But I wish you hadn’t. No one should’ve seen that shit.”

“I was done letting you guys control me,” I replied, staring them each in the face. “My mom was the only person in the world I couldn’t disappoint. That was the reason I stayed quiet for so long and let you guys have your way with me. When she died, it didn’t matter what anyone else thought. I won’t let anyone shame me into keeping quiet and taking abuse anymore.”

“I’m sorry.” Noah gazed at me with pain-filled eyes. “I’m sorry about everything.”

“I know,” I said, feeling a tight choke in my throat. “But you know what? I’m stronger now. No one can bully me into submission again.”

“You’re truly a queen, Milla,” said Caleb, looking at me with an intense gaze. “I doubt anyone’s ever stood up to Bill Beckett the way you did tonight. Nothing he said fazed you.”

“Words don’t bother me,” I said with a shrug.

“They won’t stay quiet after this,” said Corey, looking anxious. “So far, Luke convinced his dad that he’d be able to pull you into his team. Bill won’t let it go until he’s seen you crushed.”

“I’ll destroy him first,” I vowed. “No one gets away by disrespecting my mom. He’ll pay for every word he said against her and Brian.”

“We’ll help you do it,” said Noah. Getting to his feet, he came to stand before me. Laying his hands on my shoulders, he gazed into my eyes. “You’re not going to be alone in this fight. We’re with you.”

Corey and Caleb came forward to stand close to me.

“You’re our queen,” said Caleb while Corey wrapped his arm around my waist.

“We won’t let anyone hurt you again,” Corey promised, kissing my neck.

Surrounded by them, I felt a surge of power flow through me.

Our combined strength was going to be enough to win against self-entitled bastards like the Becketts.

The sky outside the windows of my office was dark. My eyes burned, making it difficult to look at my laptop anymore.

Closing my eyes, I leaned against the backrest of my chair and stared up at the ornamental clock on the opposite wall. It was already past midnight.

An exhausted huff left me.

I had to call it a night without finishing my work again this week.

The post of CEO was glorified as the most powerful seat in the company but even a janitor had better work hours than me. I could sit in my office for an entire twenty-four hours and still not get done with all my tasks.

A knock sounded on my door.
