“Who let him into these premises?” I grated through clenched teeth. “Don’t they know better than to let such assholes in our headquarters?” Just the thought of him going near her filled me with burning rage and hatred.

The young accountant’s scared face gave me pause. Breathing deeply, I tried to control my anger, reminding myself about where I was.

Leaving Glen behind, I hurried toward Milla’s office.

At first glance, the outer reception area seemed empty. Her assistant with the wild pink locks was missing from her desk.

I was about to turn away when the door of Milla’s office opened and Luke Beckett walked out alone.

“Ahh...Noah,” he called with a sly grin.

I waited a few seconds to see whether Milla would walk out. The door to her office closed automatically.

A small hope flared inside me.

If she wasn’t seeing him out, it meant he’d failed to charm her this time.

“You heard I was here and you came running like a dog,” Luke said with a soft chuckle. “You’re still so predictable, Amhurst.”

“Why are you here?”

“I came to see Azalea Amhurst,” he said, prowling toward me. Coming to stand before me, he added, “What a surprise to see it’s sweet, innocent Camilla. She was a pretty little thing in college but now...” He let out a whistle. “She’s fucking hot.”

“You must have some giant balls on you to walk into Amhurst Co.’s headquarters,” I said, baring my teeth.

He chuckled. “It won’t be long before I make it mine. Now that I know Milla’s about to be the CEO, the game’s become so much easier.”

“She’s not as naïve as she used to be.”

“People don’t change,” he whispered. “She’s still someone who deeply cares about her friends. I’m just surprised by her choice of companion and partner. I thought it’d be one of your brothers.”

“What do you mean?”

He pretended to look surprised. “I thought you’d know.”

“Tell me what you’re talking about or get the fuck out of here. You’re not welcome here.”

“It must be your temper that keeps her at arm’s length.” He sidled closer to me. “Be more like your father, Amhurst. That’s the way into her heart.”

“What?”

“She keeps talking about him,” he hissed like a snake in my ear. “She’s taken his name. He’s the only one who knew where she was all this time and kept it a secret from the world. Isn’t it obvious? He married her after her mother died.”

I pushed him away from me. His words were pure venom, filling me with cold dread.

Luke stared into my eyes with a maddeningly grim emotion. “Are you really that stupid? Your father’s been her sugar daddy since her mom passed away. He’s been giving her money to start a different life in a different city. He wanted to hide her away and his relationship with her. Why else would he invest so much in a girl who’d just graduated college?”

His words bore into my mind like nails.

“You always suspected her, didn’t you? Said so during that hilarious prank when you doused her with blood and shit.”

I gazed into his gleaming, malice-filled eyes. “Why did you help her, then? Why not leave her there so I could humiliate her longer?”

He shrugged. “She was cute and I wanted her in my bed. Can you blame a dude for trying?”

“Are you here to try again?”

He came close to me, close enough that I could hear him breathing against my ear. “I was one of the recipients of that sex clip,” he whispered. “Nothing’s ever made me come so explosively as that. That’s how they should make real porn, you know? I come every time I hear her sobbing and pleading for your brothers to stop while they pound into her holes.”
