Back in college, he’d seemed interested in me but I never led him on. Did he want to start something now? WasIinterested in him?

Corey and Caleb’s faces rose in my mind. A sense of guilt swirled in my gut, leaving me with a sick feeling.

I shouldn’t feel guilty, I told myself. We’re not exclusive or anything. It was just one night.

Deep within, I knew I was kidding myself.

Noah, Corey, and Caleb were the only men who could coax pleasure out of my body. It was their touch I always craved.

I knew I was fucked up for liking their hands on my body, to have them pound into me and carry me to the heights of pleasure.

Shaking myself, I looked around.

Luke was already gone.

Sinking back into the couch, I tried to take my mind off Luke’s silly proposal. There were far more important things to worry about, especially the men who were leaking confidential information outside our circle.

My gaze went to the corner of my laptop screen. It was close to eleven.

Time for a break, I decided, closing my laptop.

I’d arrived early and had been working in my office since eight that morning.

Getting to my feet, I stretched my arms and slowly rotated my head.

Most days, I went to the coffee shop on the opposite side of the road from our office building. The distance gave me the chance to walk a little and the almond bear claws they sold were my guilty pleasure.

I grabbed my jacket and headed out of my office.

The moment I stepped outside, I realized something was up.

People were huddled in small groups along the long hallway and whispering between themselves. Their gazes and gestures were all pointed toward an office further down the corridor.

I looked around for someone recognizable.

“Glen,” I called as my gaze fell on a young accountant who worked in the admin building. “Can you come over here, please?”

An alarmed expression came over him as soon as he looked up at me. Breaking off from his group, he shuffled toward me.

“What’s going on?” I asked, wondering why he looked so nervous. “What’s everyone discussing?”

“Luke Beckett of Beckett Industries is here,” he said in a low voice, looking worried. “He’s been seen waiting in Ms. Azalea’s office since this morning.”

“What?”

“Everyone’s saying he’s here to offer her a better deal,” he said. “Some are saying he’s here to threaten her but most believe he’ll entice her away.”

“How can that guy be allowed to enter our premises?” I said through clenched teeth. “Are you sure it’s not a rumor?”

“I don’t know,” Glen confessed. “It’s what’s everyone’s been saying. Most people here would recognize the Becketts. I doubt it’s a rumor.”

Rage erupted within my chest at the mere mention of that name.

Luke Beckett was a weasel who’d been trying to get close to Milla since we were in college. He wore the mask of a good guy to fool her but I knew his real nature.
