Please, don’t break my heart again, I silently prayed.

Milla’s lashes fluttered and suddenly, her eyes flew open. She groaned, gingerly touching the side of her head.

“Where am I?” she moaned, slowly sitting up.

Her gaze moved around the room until they settled on me and Corey. Confusion flickered in her blue eyes. “You guys?”

Squeezing her eyes shut, she grabbed at her head. “I don’t remember anything after walking out of the bathroom,” she moaned to herself. “Someone grabbed me right then...and then...”

Raising her head, she stared at us. “It was you guys!” she shouted, pointing a finger at us. “You did this!” She climbed out of bed but before she could take a step toward us, her legs wobbled.

Corey leaped forward to catch her before she fell to the ground.

“Let go of me!” she screamed, pushing him away.

“I’m only trying to help!” Corey gasped as she hit him. “Calm down, Milla.”

“Don’t call me that!” she hissed. “I’m Azalea.”

I watched my brother struggle to calm her down. He was doing his best not to hurt her while Milla scratched, punched, and bit him.

My brother’s face and arms were getting covered in cuts and bruises. I was almost impressed how he still held onto her despite the onslaught of her nails and fists.

“I won’t let you hurt me again,” she yelled, elbowing him in the ribs. “I’ll fucking kill you if you touch me.”

Milla was feral. It looked like she was fighting him for her life.

Did she really think we were going to hurt her? Was that the reason she hid from us for so long?

An ache went through me.

How could we let the girl we loved think that about us?

For the thousandth time, I cursed myself. We were idiots for blindly following Noah’s lead.

“We’re not going to hurt you, Milla,” I said in a loud voice.

She stopped for a moment, breathing heavily and gazing at me wildly. “Tell him to let me go.”

I gave a nod. “Let her be, Corey.”

Corey loosened his hold on her and she pushed him away.

She made a feeble attempt to smooth her clothes and hair. “Why did you bring me here?” she asked. “Do you plan to force yourselves on me again? Maybe you think you can keep me quiet. Where’s Noah? He must be hiding somewhere and taping this whole thing.”

“Noah isn’t here,” said Corey in a low voice. “It’s just us. And for the last time, we’re not going to hurt you.”

She scoffed. “You must think I’m retarded. One of you fucking drugged me and brought me here.” She looked all around the suite. “Where are we?” she asked in a lower voice. “What is this place?”

“We’re in one of the rooms at The Orchid,” I said. “We brought you here so we could talk to you.”

“I tried talking to you earlier but you wouldn’t give me a chance,” said Corey, scratching the back of his head. “What was I supposed to do?”

“Oh, I don’t know,” Milla said with a mocking scoff. “Maybe not commit a crime? You could’ve considered being patient and giving me my space. But, no. You want to bully everyone into doing what you want.”

“It’s not like that,” Corey blurted. “We just have something very important to tell you and it can’t wait.”

“Yeah?” she challenged. “What’s that?”
