“Can you help us?” I asked, knowing I sounded desperate.

“What else do you know about this kidnapping?”

“Our friend at the station told us about a CCTV footage that captured Beckett’s car leaving the area with six military-grade trucks trailing him,” I said. “That’s how we’re sure the Becketts took her and Noah.”

“Can you send me that footage?” said Civella. “It might give me a clue to who’s helping them.”

“Sure. You’ll have to give us a few minutes.”

“Fine. Send them to me asap.” The call switched off.

Corey was already making a call before I had the chance to dial Murray’s number.

“Send us the CCTV footage that shows Beckett leaving with those trucks,” Corey said on the phone. “Do itnow.” Switching off the call, he met my gaze. “Told you, Cal. Civella’s going to be more useful in this situation than the cops.”

“I don’t know,” I said. “Let’s just hope we don’t end up getting entangled into something shitty because of him.”

“Who cares about that right now?” Corey demanded. “We need to get Noah and Milla away from Luke and his sadist daddy.”

My breath left in a rush.

Corey was right. We needed to save Milla and Noah before worrying about anything else.

Corey’s phone buzzed.

“Got it,” he exclaimed. “Forwarding it to Civella...” His gaze was fixed on his phone while his fingers tapped the screen incessantly. “Done.”

We stood on the side of the road, waiting for a crumb of news. Everything was in Civella’s hands now. Without his help, we’d be fighting a lost battle.

Silence settled over us.

Every passing second felt like an eternity. Luke could be inflicting unimaginable pain on both Milla and Noah right now and there was nothing we could do but wait around for someone to help us.

Thankfully, Nick called us back within five minutes.

“Good job on getting me the footage,” Civella said in an appreciative tone. “I think I know who’s involved in the kidnapping.”

“Really?”

“I need to make a few phone calls to be a hundred percent sure but don’t wait around any more. Go to Beckett’s house right now. Take your brother with you and wait for me to get there. Stay hidden. Don’t give them a clue we’re on our way.”

“Got it,” I answered in a grim tone. “And Mr. Civella...thank you.”

“Thank me when we’ve found her.”

Relief rushed through me when though the call ended.

“Nick’s on his way,” I told Corey. Putting the visor down on my helmet, I moved toward my bike. “Come on. We’re going to get them back.”

A chilly breeze blew past us as we stared up at Beckett Manor in the distance. Caleb and I waited on the deserted road that led to the estate’s main gates. As Civella advised, we hid our bikes behind one of the trees that fenced the woods nearby.

Our black leather gear helped us meld into the night, concealing us from any prying eyes. All we had to do now was wait for Civella to arrive with reinforcements.

“I’ll break his fucking neck if he’s laid a hand on her,” Caleb muttered to himself.
