“Yeah,” I said. “It’s all thanks to you that I’ve been able to keep my new identity a secret from everyone these couple of years. If it weren’t for you removing web articles with my details, Noah, Corey and Caleb would’ve tracked me down years ago.”

“I’m still keeping an eye on anything that crops up with your name,” Juniper said in a deadly serious tone. “Over the past few months, someone’s been doing their best to upload a sex clip on all major social media sites. My people have been taking them down but photos and clips keep cropping up. Someone’s trying very hard to ruin your reputation.”

“I know who it is,” I said through clenched teeth. “It’s our competitor. Do you remember me telling you about a guy called Luke Beckett?”

“The Elite guy who was a good friend to you in college?” Juniper guessed correctly.

“Yeah. Him. It turns out he was nice to me because he wanted to use me against Noah, Corey and Caleb. He never cared about me in the first place.”

“Why did he turn against you?”

“I refused to join hands with him to destroy Amhurst Co. This is part of his revenge.”

“Silverlake City sounds like dramaland,” Juniper said with a chuckle. “Hollywood should consider changing location.”

I laughed but sobered up quickly. “Seriously, dude. Thank you for watching out for me. I can’t deal with anything else at the moment.”

“I understand that but you’ve got to be careful, Azalea,” she said in a grim voice. “This kind of attack can turn into something vicious. They already attacked you once. They’ll do it again.”

A cold feeling slithered down my back.

“Noah, Corey and Caleb are always around,” I said, thinking about the way they’d been protecting me since the day I got back to Silverlake City. “They’ll keep me safe.”

“It’s strange to hear you say that,” she said in a thoughtful tone. “You used to hate those guys.”

“A lot has changed since I got back.”

“I can imagine. You won’t be easily swayed after everything that you suffered through in college.”

“Yeah. They had to give up on everything to win back my trust.”

“So...you’re back with them? Are you dating them?”

Just as I was about to answer her, the door opened. Next moment, Caleb walked in.

My gaze automatically went to the clock on the opposite wall. It was close to two P.M. already.

“Come to SC,” I said. “I’ll give you all the juicy deets.”

A piercing squeal sounded through the phone.

It was so loud that even Caleb was startled by it.

I chuckled. “How about next month? I’m hoping I’ll be freed up by then.”

“Fine! I’m coming to SC.”

“I’ll tell my PA to contact yours and they can set us a date.”

“Awesome! Hang in tight, babe. Remember what I told you.” Her voice turned serious again. “Be careful.”

“I will,” I promised and hung up.

“Who were you talking to?” Caleb asked as soon as I put down the phone.

“Juniper Hall of Hall & Campbell Tech,” I replied.

“Hall & Campbell?” Caleb asked. “Aren’t they a major tech company? As far as I know, they host our company’s web portals and stuff on their servers.”
