Max still looks livid. And I don’t blame him. “You agreed to face each other yesterday. If you can’t handle that, then we have some major problems here. I’m going to give you one more chance to work through this, and whatever the fuck happened last night, is never going to happen again. You hear me?”

I nod again. I’m not sure what to say or do here, as this is not exactly how it looks. Yeah, we did beat the shit out of each other, but not necessarily for the reason he thinks we did.

And we did already work it out…

Luca smiles at me. Fucking smiles. I shoot him a look, as this is not the fucking time to fuck around.

He winks and turns back to Max. “We hear you, loud and clear. Some of what happened last night we would like to keep going with, but the beating each other up thing, yeah, we can stop that.”

I sigh and rub my forehead.

What the fuck…

Max’s brow furrows but he, smartly, chooses to ignore that. “I need to know how you plan to sort your shit out.”

Luca waves a hand in the air. “Oh, we already did.”

Max crosses his arms, not looking impressed. “Do tell.”

Luca looks at me, his eyes briefly dropping to my lips. A rush of something similar to excitement courses through me as he gives me this look in front of everyone. And I can’t seem to pull my eyes from him as his lips tilt up in a lopsided smile. I’m rooted to the spot, just staring back at him.

“We had a chat,” Luca says, eyes still locked on mine. “And, I guess we can say we get along pretty well now. Don’t we, Tiger?”

I finally rip my eyes away from him to glance at Max, who is watching us in confusion. I nod, looking back to Luca. “We’ve got it sorted out.”

Luca smiles, eyes dropping to my lips again. “Definitely.”

When we turn back to everyone else, the gym is silent as they all stare at us.

“So,” Luca nods, “I guess we better get to work then. Where do you want us, coach?”

Max raises his eyebrows, looking between us. “Uh, weights today I guess. Since your faces are fucked.”

“Ten-four.” Luca salutes him and heads off towards the locker room.

I awkwardly nod at Max, adjust my bag on my shoulder and follow Luca. I can still feel everyone’s eyes on us, and I try to ignore them as I glare at Luca’s back.

Who knows what they’re all thinking about that, but I have an idea. Luca wasn’t exactly subtle.

But as Luca strips his hoodie off and my eyes immediately fall to his bare abs, I guess he’s not the only one who is lacking subtlety.

“Please?”

“No.”

“Come on, everyone else knows!”

“No one knows anything.” I set my weights back on the rack and turn around to face Rosa, who is staring up at me with her hands on her hips.

She levels me with a look. “Something more than just a fight happened last night, according to Seb’s version of yours and Luca’s showdown with Max this morning. He said you guys were weird and sorted your shit out.” She tilts her head. “So, what happened?”

“We fought, we sorted it out.”

“My god.” Rosa tilts her head back with a groan. “Luca.” She turns to him, finally letting me leave the weight rack.

“Yeah, babe.” He sits up on the bench, finishing his chest flys.

“Spill.”
