Do I really have a thing for Luca Mitchell?

“Hey, Ty!”

I look up as I enter the gym to see Max smiling at me.

“Hey,” I greet him, glancing around, seeing only Noah and Rosa here in the boxing ring.

“So, watch the fights last night?” Max asks, as he hangs a jump rope on its hook on the wall.

I nod. “I did. Blaese was a beast.”

“Oh, fuck.” Max chuckles. “Was he ever. Pretty heavy left hook on that guy.” He shakes his head slightly. “I would know.”

I chuckle as well, having almost forgot that Max fought him a few times when they were both rising up the ranks. “Props to you for putting yourself on the receiving end of that.”

“Oh, no.” He seriously shakes his head. “He was never able to get a left hook on me.” He then winks, pulling a light laugh from me.

Max smiles, observing me for a moment. He then pats my shoulder as he turns towards his office. “Keep up the good work, bud.”

“Thanks,” I mutter as I watch him leave.

Rosa and Noah give me a wave from the boxing ring as I head into the locker room, and I’m thankful that no one else is here yet so I can enjoy some quiet as I get ready.

But as I’m running the track, my eyes are whipping towards the door every time it opens. And a sneaky, hopeful feeling creeps in each time it does.

I hate that.

Just when I think he’s not even going to come in today, the door opens and Luca walks in. Everyone else is already here, and he just casually strolls in with a huge smile. And I can’t help but watch him. He’s wearing a bright tie-dye hoodie and gray sweats, coffee in hand and his hair is pulled back with a bright blue headband.

He greets everyone with a high five or a wave and a smile, his presence immediately taking over the entire gym. And as I continue to quietly run the track, trying my best to ignore him… I can’t. With every laugh and greeting, my attention is pulled back to him.

Eventually, he turns to me as I run by, and his eyes easily travel down my body. He takes a drink of his coffee, giving me a slight nod.

I quickly bring my focus back to the track before me. About ten more laps to this run is needed…

As he heads into the locker room, I’m thankful that our interaction ended at that. I still don’t know what this means for either of us. He pisses me off more than anything or anyone, and yet somehow, he’s the one that can make me feel and forget.

He takes my control away from me… and I let him.

Also, knowing Luca and his loud mouth, I’m just waiting for him to announce to the entire gym that I sucked his dick. The last thing I want is interference in whatever the fuck this is as I try to figure out my feelings around it.

But… whatever this is… it does feel good.

My thoughts travel back to last night as I keep running, remembering the feeling of his hand wrapped around both of us, as-

Suddenly, a colorful figure stands before me and I stop, holding my hands out to keep from running into Luca. While he simply stands in the middle of the track.

He smiles widely. “Wow. So in your head you didn’t even see me here.” He tilts his head as he looks me up and down. “Hm. What were you thinking about, Ty?”

All my earlier thoughts immediately fly from my mind as I take in his irritating smirk.

“Nothing.” I move to step around him so I can keep running, but he side steps in front of me, blocking my way.

“Oh,” he places a hand over his heart, “now that hurts my feelings.”

“What do you want?” I ask, glancing around the gym. But thankfully no one is watching.

“To roll.” Luca shrugs.
