“Uh-oh,” Kaiden sings. “Someone’s in trouble.”

“So much trouble,” Axel agrees. “Just wait until we get home! I cannot believe you put yourself and the baby’s life in danger like that.”

“Wait, what?” Zie asks. “What did you do?”

“Nothing,” I reply, shaking my head. “He’s overreacting as usual.”

“I am not. You went against the plan and put two lives in danger, which is exactly why I didn’t want you involved!”

“You can’t keep me locked up at home until this baby gets here,” I protest. Honestly, it’s an argument we’ve been having a lot. One he will not win. He should know by now that I’m just as stubborn and headstrong as him. More so, now that I’m pregnant. It’s like I have the ultimate mama bear energy, and instead of eating for two, I’m constantly fighting for two. It’s thehormones. But I do enjoy pissing him off, so that’s an added bonus.

“You two need to chill,” Kaiden says. “Find some other way to work out your differences or frustrations or whatever the hell this is.”

“Like how?” Zie asks, chiming in on a conversation he has no business butting in on.

“In the bedroom,” Kaiden replies seriously, nodding his head like it’s some genius idea or something.

“Oh I plan to,” Axel growls menacingly, his eyes flashing dangerously. “As soon as we get our wife home, I intend to punish her for disobeying a direct order, and I invite you both to join me.”

“Hey!” I protest, pouting even though my core clenches at the idea of Axelpunishingme. “You’re not ganging up on me!”

“We have to, babygirl,” Kaiden replies. “It’s the only way you’ll learn.”

“Yeah,” Zie adds, his blue eyes sparkling with joy. “And we need to take advantage now before the baby gets here.”

“Why’s that then?” I ask, hands on hips. Why am I fighting this? The three of them want to take me home and share me in the bedroom? Yes please!

“Because it might be another girl, and then we’ll be evenly matched.”

I laugh. “I’m in half a mind to have twins so you’re actually outnumbered,” I joke.

“Twins do run in my family,” Axel says thoughtfully. “My father was a twin, and my mother always said I was too, but he didn’t survive.”

I raise my brows. That’s new information.

“But anyway, I digress. We will findthatinformation out soon enough when we have our scan next month. Let’s get home, my love, the three of us have a punishment to dole out.”

7 Months Later

For someone who’s able to withstand days of torture without breaking a sweat, I thought I’d be better prepared for childbirth. Hearing Odi in pain is killing me. I can’t help. I feel soimpotent.

I pace the delivery suite while Kaiden and Zie each hold one of her hands and coach her through her contractions.

“This is bullshit,” I snarl to no one in particular. “We should have opted for a c-section.”

Kaiden shoots me a withering glare, and then turns his attention back to our wife. Even covered in sweat, she’s so fucking beautiful. So strong. My warrior goddess.

“We’ve been through this,” Odi pants. There’s a lull in her contractions enough that she’s able to give me shit. “It’s my body. My. Fucking. Choice—ow! I fucking hate you Axel Abbot.”

I smile. I could not love this woman more.

“Just breathe, my love,” I reply, trying my best to sound soothing, but unable to keep the smirk off my face. She’s trying to give birth to fucking twins and she can still give me shit. Magnificent.

Truth be told, I’m a nervous wreck on the inside. I know Zie and Kaiden are too. This isn’t our first child, but it’s our first birth, and the anxiety hasn’t lessened one bit.

As Odi’s contractions intensify, my phone rings.

“Shit, sorry!” I say, pulling it from my pocket.
