So he tried to use logic instead.

“Then they’ll know you’re my sub.” He raised one eyebrow like he’d thought I hadn’t realized that.

But luckily for him, I was an A+ level worrier.

“I have already panicked over that and made my peace with it.” Sadly, that was true. I hadn’t really slept much the last few nights as I’d gone over that, but I wasn’t going to confess that to Leif. “They gossip too much and they’re excited for me. It’s like it’s my birthday and Christmas all wrapped up in one event.”

It was fucking weird…and it made me wonder what other kind of strange milestones they’d celebrate.

Narrowing his eyes at me, Leif looked sexy and dangerous. “We’re going to talk about that later.”

Shit.

Outed myself.

If there’d been more time, I’d have had a good panic, but there wasn’t, so I couldn’t.

They’d seen us.

Wow.

“Did I ever say how big the dinner thing was?” I wasn’t going to trust my memory at the moment, so I was glad when Leif subtly shook his head.

“No. You kept using words like guys and them and group.” Leif covered his sigh with a fake smile. “I’m going to ask more questions in the future.”

Yep, that’d be a Dom job too.

“Good idea.” Because there were a ton of them.

Was a group of models a gaggle?

A mess?

There had to be one of those weird group words for it but I couldn’t remember if I’d ever heard one.

“They’re waving at us.” Well, the two I’d met in person were…the rest of the group was milling around a long table at the back of the restaurant as they chatted. “I think that means we have to keep walking.”

“Yep.” Leif didn’t seem like he knew what to say about the trouble I’d gotten us into, but the greeter at the door waving us toward the rest of the party in the back might’ve had something to do with that.

As we started making our way across the room, I leaned closer and whispered, “Do we really look like we belong with the rest of them?”

“No.” His immediate answer made me feel better even though I wasn’t sure why.

“Okay, good.” I thought it might be because we were both the aiming to blend in types and none of the rest of them were.

Even when I was doing the art modeling, I’d have never stood out like they did fully clothed.

“It’s going to be fine.” Leif might’ve been saying that to himself, but I took it to heart too.

“Yes.” Because he was the Dom and he’d fix anything that made me insane or that made me want to crawl under the table. “It’s going to be fine.”

Judging by the smiles that got wider and the friendly but curious looks we got as we approached the table, we didn’t look as worried as I felt.

“You made it.” Kenton was just as bubbly as he’d been the first time I’d met him as he dragged what seemed to be his partner around the table. “And I finally get to meet your Dom. This is so exciting.”

Not the word I’d have used, but it would work.
