“His last words before he left were that he would have his revenge against the Rebels and he doesn’t need us to get it. He said he was gonna hit you guys where it hurts the most. I’m not exactly sure what he meant by this, but I wanted to make you aware that we can’t locate him. It’s like he’s off the grid completely and no one has seen him.”

The room falls silent as we each take in what Micah just told us. If Zeke is mad at anyone, it’s me, but he’s always hated all of us. There’s no telling what he’s capable of in his state of mind. It’s nothing that we can’t handle, but still it was nice having some peace for a while. Once again my thoughts are interrupted when Eagle addresses Micah.

“Thanks for coming to tell us about Zeke. I know it took a lot for you to come here alone and give up one of your brothers. What I need to know is that if he tries anything and he ends up dead will you have a problem with that?”

“I’m hoping it doesn’t go that far, but if it does, I’m sure you’d be justified in ending him. Zeke has always lived on the edge and taken risks. When he’s angry, he makes callous decisions that always cost him. I’m hoping that this one doesn’t cost him his life. My guys already know there’ll be no retaliation for whatever happens to Zeke. We’re not trying to start a war over someone who doesn’t know what brotherhood means. I’ll be retiring soon, so it would be up to Ezra if Zeke is ever welcomed back into the Devils, but I’ll advise against it. He’s just not worth the trouble.”

“Alright. As long as you’re okay with it, we’ll deal with Zeke in our own way if it comes to that. If he’s smart, he’ll steer clear of Iron Forge and the Rebels,” Eagle states as he rounds the table and stands face to face with Micah.

“If I hear anything about his whereabouts, I’ll give you a call,” Micah concludes as he reaches out to shake Eagle’s hand.

“Thanks. I appreciate that.”

Turning to leave, Eagle has one of the prospects escort Micah out and after taking his seat again, we start putting a plan in place to not only deal with Zeke but also keep our families safe.

I know I asked Ephraim to tell me what’s going on, but I’m not sure if I really want to know. Who am I kidding to think our bubble of peace would last forever and still my heart hopes that whatever Micah was here for is nothing more than club business.

“Lizzie, what’s going on?” Angel asks as she comes to stand next to me.

“I’m sure Gideon will tell you later, but when I was around front with E, Micah showed up and whatever he told the guys had them heading inside the house. It must be something bad because Gideon and E looked pissed.”

“Micah? What could he possibly want?” She questions with a look of confusion etched on her face.

“I’m not sure, but I’m hoping they don’t hide this from us like they do everything else,” I retort with not much confidence that our men will relent and let us in on what’s going on.

About an hour passes and to my surprise our husbands join us and fill us in on why Micah was here. I’m sure they’re leaving out some details, but we get the gist of it. Ephraim must sense my anxiety because he envelopes me in his arms, reassuring me without words as I rest my head on his chest. Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes and inhale his scent to calm me, knowing that whatever is happening, the guys have it under control. When I open my eyes, Harper and JJ come into focus, playfully chasing each other around the yard and I can’t help but wish this world were safe for them. Their innocence balances the ugly in the world, but how do we protect them from it? Is it inevitable that something bad is bound to happen? The mere thought of anything happening to my little girl has my mind reeling with the worst possibilities.

Maybe I’m overreacting but what if Zeke makes good on his threats? We’ve done our best to steer clear of trouble because our Rebel family has been blessed with children. Besides Ephraim, my baby girl is my world and I will protect her with everything in me. Was my father right? Should I move away and leave the life I fought through hell to build? I immediately admonish myself knowing that I’m thinking of the worst-case scenario before we even come up with a plan.

Doing my best not to sound distressed, I ask,

“What are we going to do, E?”

Looking at me with understanding, he answers,

“There’s nothing we can do until he makes a move. Until then, we live our lives as we always have. That means we’re leaving in two days for our honeymoon and Harper will be safe with my parents and Janie.”

I can’t believe I forgot about our honeymoon in the span of a few minutes. It’s a shame that the littlest thing can throw me off and get my mind racing in all sorts of directions. Ephraim’s right though. We should go and enjoy ourselves in beautiful St. Lucia. I’m sure there will be some Rebels looking out for our nugget while we’re gone, so we can just go and take some time for ourselves. Besides, I have plans to seduce and devour my new husband. With the looks that he’s been giving me all day, he plans to do the same.

We arrived in St. Lucia about an hour ago and although it’s still early, I’m exhausted. We drove to Los Angeles and took a flight to the Caribbean. We had a few stopovers, but I loved every minute of it. In all my years, I’ve only been to two places. My dreams of traveling the world after college were snuffed out after I was taken. The bubble I created around myself kept me safe. That included not stepping foot outside of Iron Forge. I’ve gone on short runs with Ephraim, and of course, we’ve taken long drives, but that has been the extent of my traveling. Taking my first plane ride was an adventure in and of itself. LAX was full of people traveling to different destinations, living their lives as if it’s normal to travel. I suppose it is but with my limited life experience it’s hard to imagine it all.

Since we were both tired, we decided to take a nap before dinner and now, a couple of hours later, I’m staring at the ceiling having a little time to take this all in. The private villa we reserved is indeed private. The property has every amenity you could think of, including our very own infinity pool. The best part is we can walk from our patio down to the beach and swim in the clearest water I’ve ever seen. We opened the sliding doors just to feel the warm breeze and smell the salty air of the ocean. It’s all so surreal to me and the best part is I get to experience all of these “firsts” with the man I love. With the exception of the conversation with my father and Micah coming to the compound with news about Zeke, the last two weeks have been a dream come true. As much as I hated leaving Harper, I’m happy that E and I have a chance to spend some alone time together to reconnect.

Between the wedding planning, Harper, Saint, and club business, we haven’t had a chance to spend any real time together in the past year. Quickies here and there are not the same as the intimacy and connection we feel when we make love. I miss that and I know he does too. I have a surprise for him tonight and I can’t wait to see his reaction. Just the thought of it makes me giddy and at the same time nervous. Part of the wedding planning was me taking private dance lessons with Alise. Prior to her working behind the bar with me, Alise was an exotic dancer at the Boobie Trap. Once she and Eagle were married, that brute of a man would not allow his wife to dance any longer. She, like me, insists on living a normal life, so they compromised in order for her to still work there. She created a lap dance for me to perform for my husband on our honeymoon.

The lingerie I purchased is a midnight colored, two-piece ensemble that effortlessly enhances my figure. With a tight-fitting bodice, it gracefully emphasizes the generous size of my breasts, a noticeable reminder of the beautiful journey I experienced during my pregnancy with Harper. Complementing this alluring piece are the thong panties that seductively sit high on my hips, skillfully showcasing my best attribute and leaving little to the imagination.

“What are you smiling about my little hellion?” Ephraim asks, pulling me from my daydream.

Turning toward him, I reply,

“Just thinking about what I have planned for you later on and no, I’m not telling you anything so don’t ask!”
