“This is the one we went for. It’s official,” he says, a confident grin on his handsome face. “All of our official documents will have this branding.”

“But I didn’t even get to do the other drafts. I...”

“It was perfect just as it was,” he says, pressing a finger to my lips. “Just like you. This work comes naturally to you. Your designs were amazing.”

“Are you being serious right now?” I’m shocked at how sweet he is being. “Are you pulling my leg?”

“Never.” He grins. “I love you, Ella. I’ve always loved you. And while this is a very unconventional start to a dating relationship, that’s okay because we’re unconventional. All I know is that I want to be with you. All I know is that I want to spoil you and help you find your way, help you find the things that you love to do. I just want you to live the best life that you can. All I ask is that you let me go on that journey with you.”

“You’re amazing. You know that, right?” My voice is breathless and I’m trying to explain to him just how much he means to me. But sometimes, there just aren’t words to express how full and happy your heart is. Sometimes, there aren’t adequate words to explain to someone how much joy they fill you with. It’s an amazing and scary feeling to feel that much love for someone.

“I mean, I like to think I’m okay,” he says, laughing slightly. He shifts his chair over so he’s next to me and gives me a kiss on the lips. “You are my absolute joy in life, Ella. Being with you, well, it will never be dull.”

“You can say that again, especially when we have masks on.” I think back to that night at Sam’s work party. “That was one of the most exciting nights I’ve ever had.”

“Then I guess we need to have masks on again, real quick.” He grins. “I quite like the idea of being on another dance floor, having my wicked way with you.”

“Oh my gosh, really?” I ask, giggling. “That night was crazy.”

“Maybe because I’m crazy about you. You know what, Ella?”

“What, Colton?”

“All I want for Christmas is you, and it looks like I’ve been lucky enough to get the present I’ve waited my entire life for.”

“I love you,” I say as I pull him toward me and kiss him deeply. His fingers run through my hair and I can feel my heart aching to be closer to him. “Let’s go back to your place,” I whisper against his lips.

“Oh?” He asks as if he doesn’t know what I want.

“I mean, unless you don’t have any condoms,” I say with a giggle. “Because this assistant is off for the night and not about to pick some up for you.”

“Well, you don’t have to worry about that.” He growls and pulls me onto his lap so I can feel his hardness beneath me. “’Cause I have a feeling that we won’t be needing any soon.”

It’s my turn to say, “Oh,” and I tremble slightly as his fingers slip between my legs. He bites the side of my neck and grunts as I reach down and rub his cock.

“Keep that up and we’ll be fucking right here at the table in front of everyone.” He grunts as he turns me to the side and kisses me again. “Not that I mind, of course, but I have a feeling you might.”

“How considerate you are,” I say, giggling.

“It’s because I love you so,” he says as he grabs my hand and places it on his heart. “You own this now, Ella, my darling. Please be gentle with it.”

“I will, my love,” I say softly. “I promise that I will never let it go.”

And for a few moments we stare at each other, our eyes screaming our love for each other. I am not sure I have ever been happier than I am in this moment.

“I guess we both got what we wanted this Christmas.” He taps the tip of my nose and then kisses me. “True love and happiness, I don’t think I could have wished for anything more.”

The next book following these friends is Mid Thirties Slightly Hot Mess Female Seeking Billionaire, starring Sarah!

To Whom it May Concern,

This is a long shot.

I’m seeking a billionaire, I will also settle for a millionaire. Sorry, not interested in any salesmen looking to sell me a timeshare or a part of their animal balloon company (been there, done that).

I am not a golddigger, though you may not believe that. I have references. Ask all of my broke exes and my best friend.
