Fortunately, even though we were sitting near the front, we’d purposely taken the outer aisle seats at the end of the long pew, and despite the folding chairs, there was still plenty of room for me to sneak out the side door.

As soon as I stepped out of the chapel, I spotted Emily and headed right for her. She was on her phone and from the gyrations of her body and her hand gestures, I could tell things in getting the bride to the altar world weren’t going as planned. A bad turn for the wedding planner. Once our gaze locked, she ended the call and walked straight for me, looking angry and defeated.

“Tell Cody there’s not going to be a wedding,” she said. “Natalie’s locked herself in the side room and refuses to come out. Even her parents can’t convince her to come on out. The only reason why we don’t have a runaway bride is because the window is stained glass and doesn’t open, so she’s trapped. Her parents are at the door trying their best, but so far, it’s not looking good.”

“This wedding has to happen,” I told her. “There’s no other option. Cody’s life will turn upside down if it doesn’t happen. Natalie will see to that. And if that happens, our band will suffer, which effects far too many people. So, this wedding will happen.”

She stuck a fist to her hip. “You want to tell me how, when the bride won’t come out of her changing room?”

“Let me talk to her.”

“Do you have some inside track to her fears or what?”

“You might say that I do… yes. I’ve known Natalie for a long time. I just might have the golden ticket to getting her out of the room and down that aisle.”

“And what’s that?”

“Something Bernard said this morning.”

“I’ve known Natalie for most of my life, and once she makes up her mind, there’s no turning it around.”

“Might be true for most things, but when it comes to the physical matters of the heart, she’s got a crack in her armor.”

“And you know what that crack might be?”

I couldn’t help the grin that stretched across my lips… the crack pun was unintentional from Emily, but it wasn’t lost on me. I knew a lot about Natalie’s… cracks. Knew about them intimately, if I had to tell the truth of the matter.

“I do,” I told her not wanting to admit anything, but still fighting not to chuckle over the various visions floating around in my head. “I know everything about Natalie’s… cracks.”

“Holy shit! Are you saying what I think you’re saying? Don’t tell me you and she…” but she didn’t finish the sentence. “I don’t want to know. Besides, that can’t be true. You’re Cody’s best friend.”

I shrugged, and that was enough for me to stop her in her tracks. “Let’s not jump to any conclusions here, okay?”

“Okay. I won’t, but I have to say, this thing keeps getting better and better. Does Cody know you and Nat…”

She made a circle with her fingers, then poked through it with her index finger on her other hand.

“I’m not admitting to anything, and don’t go spreading things you don’t understand,” I told her. I didn’t like to lie to either of my bandmates. Wasn’t my style, but I also didn’t volunteer information if it wasn’t the kind that would benefit any of us.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” she demanded.

“It means, maybe it’s best if you keep your speculations to yourself, at least until we get Natalie and Bernie to say I do.”

Cody’s knowing about the affair I had with his sister fell into that no-benefit category; at least both Natalie and I had agreed on that much.

Natalie and I had had a brief but dirty, hot, over-the-top, crazy affair when Wilder and Days was only beginning to jet into the upper stratosphere of popularity. The woman was almost a virgin when we first got together, with a pussy so tight, I couldn’t get enough. She’d wanted a safe partner to learn from, and I was more than willing to teach her everything I knew. We’d been strict about the rules of our game, just sex. No emotional ties. We practiced every position I could think of, along with new ones we’d heard about. Plus, more oral sex than I’d ever had in any two-week period of time. Once we ended it, she knew exactly how she liked her pussy rubbed, licked, and stroked, could order me around without any hesitation and in return, her gagging reflex was completely under control. The woman could do multiple blow-job shots in a bar without giving it a thought. That had been her ultimate test, and she’d passed with flying colors.

The almost-virgin had turned into one hot fucking woman who knew exactly what she wanted and could bring a man to his knees with one smokin’ hot kiss. It had been an incredible experience, that we both benefited from.

Bernie was one fucking lucky dude, and he knew it.

“That’s probably a good idea, but how do you think you can get her to walk out of that room and down the aisle?”

“Come with me, and I’ll show you,” I said.

Damn, but Emily looked amazing. Even stressed, this woman looked like a goddess. She wore a deep-pink dress that had just the right amount of cling to show off all her lovely curves. The color made her lips look fuller and her cheeks glow. And those eyes, they were killing me.

I could never have had a brief encounter with Emily like I’d had with Natalie. Natalie and I weren’t a match. But Emily… totally different story. If she and I ever started down a sex path, I knew she’d own me. Her smile alone was enough to make my dick hard.
