My eyes widen. "What did she do this time?"

Meghan shakes her head and says, "Hit on her husband right in front of her. My patient has cancer; she no longer has her hair, and she had the nerve to comment on it."

I snorted out a laugh. "That sounds about right. Did I tell you that I walked into the storage room to see her bent over while a biker was ramming her from behind?"

Her eyes widen in shock, and I nod.

"Yeah. Dr. Thomas asked me to inform the patient's family about her condition, and Cassidy snatched my clipboard before shoving hers into my chest. It turns out she noticed the man when he came in, and she didn't even give the patient's family an update; I had to go in there to inform them when she failed to do so."

"You have got to be shitting me."

I shook my head and said, "Nope, and then she had the gall to blame me as to why she never got off. Apparently, I interrupted them, and he couldn't finish. Yet, if her cart was full like it was supposed to be, then she would have gotten off."

Meghan bursts out in laughter while I grin, shaking my head. Then I sigh and pick up Annalise's notes: "Annalise Lawrence discharged herself but didn't wait around for her medication."

Meghan sighs, and compassion shines through her eyes. "That poor woman. I cannot imagine going through something like that. My girl, she's my whole world." I nod in agreement and give her a sad smile. "I'm going to finish my rounds and try to clear up Cassidy's mess. See you at dinner in the dining hall."

I smile and nod before she walks away.

I try to call Annalise several times, but there's no answer, and I sigh before dialing Axel's number; it rings three times before he answers.

"This is Axel."

I cleared my throat,

"Hi Axel, it's Melanie Wilson. I'm calling because even though Annalise checked herself out this morning, she left her medication. I asked if she'd wait the ten minutes until I had the script ready for her, and she nodded, but when I returned to her room, she was already gone. I tried calling her mobile, but it just rang out."

Guilt builds in my chest because he thought he was picking her up this afternoon, but I think she needs to be alone for a little while. She needs to go through this to help Axel through it.

Axel clears his throat.

"Her mobile is at her flat; we found it the day she went missing, so she hasn't got it on her; one of the brothers will pick up her medication; is that OK, Melanie?" The poor man sounds devastated. Then I realized what he had just asked. Shit. I really don't want to see that man again. He makes me feel things I haven't before, which sucks because he's clearly a man whore. I can feel myself gravitating toward him every time I see him, like he knows trauma andpain, just like me, but again, he's a man whore. He has heartbreak written all over him.

Damn it!

"Yes, that's not a problem, but uh, um, Axel, can you ensure it's not the brother I caught in a storage room, please?"

He lets out a snort, then tries to cover it up by clearing his throat, and I roll my eyes, men!

"I'll try; thanks again, Melanie."

I hear him chuckle when he hangs up, and I slowly close my eyes, shit! When I open them again, I see Cassidy walking towards me, and I look at Annalise's medication, then back towards Cassidy, and I smile. Wide.

A plan is forming.

"Cassidy?"

She looks up but sneers at me when she sees it's me who called her name: "Whatever it is, I haven't got time to do it; it's now my break time."

I smile and shrug, acting all innocent. "Huh, oh, OK. I guess I could ask another nurse to hand Annalise's medication over to one of the brothers who's coming to pick it up." I furrow my brows like I'm trying to remember something, really playing it, before I click my fingers, raise my brows, and point at her. "Actually, you know him. It's the guy you were with, you know…"

She goes from bored to excited in, like, 0.2 seconds. Hook, line, and sinker.

"Huh, well, if you have something you need to do, then I can hang here for my break.

I give her my best-relieved expression. Fuck she's gullible.

"Are you sure? I know how busy we've been, and everyone needs a decent break."
