“He’s in the guesthouse?” Hope asked, scowling harder than True had ever seen her do before; she almost had a unibrow.

“Yes.” True nodded once.

“With Nana?” Hope asked.

Faith snorted with amusement. “Unless she’s run him off screaming already.”

True pointed to Faith. “What she said.”

“And this is supposed to be a good thing?” Amy asked, shaking her head. “I thought your Nana was going to get him gone, not invite him to live with her?”

True pointed to Amy. “What she said.” She gave Hope a curious look.

Hope spluttered a chuckle of disbelief. “Nobody is laying this at my door,” she rushed out.

True raised her eyebrows with expectation. “Who brought in Nana?”

Hope shrugged. “Me, but…”

“So, whose fault is it that Nana has a ghost lodger?” Faith said, enjoying the fact that it wasn’t her turn to be in trouble.

“Well,” Hope said but said no more.

“What’s he look like?” Dani asked. “Now you can see him?”

“Tall, broad shoulders, a bit of a snob, looks like a Musketeer without the sword and sex appeal.” True shrugged. They’d see for themselves soon enough.

Dani frowned. “What’s a Musketeer?”

Faith busied herself with her mobile until she found a picture of Kiefer Sutherland in the movie and showed it to Dani. “True had a crush on him…”

“Did not!” True said, her cheeks pinking.

“Did, too,” Hope said with a teasing grin. “Personally, I liked D’Artanion.”

“You liked all of them,” True said. “Anything in trousers.”

The others chuckled as Hope cocked one eyebrow at her friend. “What can I say? I like to keep my options open.”

Amy kicked back and gripped her hands behind her head. “So, what happens now?”

“We all stay away from the guesthouse,” Dani said.

“I don’t know,” Faith said. “Could be interesting to meet someone from another time.”

“Who you think has buried treasure,” True said, wagging her finger. “Don’t think I don’t know why you are so gung-ho for these things to happen – treasure – you think it’s around, and you want it.”

Faith thought she had been doing a pretty good job hiding her agenda from the group, but looking around at the faces of the witches present, maybe not. “Who doesn’t want to be filthy rich?”

True, Hope and Dani’s hand raised while Amy shrugged. “Meh,” she said, neither one way nor the other. “Let’s put it this way; I don’t play the lottery.”

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Faith looked troubled. “What’s wrong with you witches? Who doesn’t want a big pile of money to cushion their life?”
